Alexandria is well-known for its all-female army led by [[Beatrix|General Beatrix]] and a group of male knights in charge of protecting the city, known as the Knights of Pluto led by Captain [[Adelbert Steiner]].

Desiring to rule more land, and jealous of the technological advancement of Lindblum - Queen Brahne starts another war while manipulated by Kuja. Using both the power of the Black Mages, and the Heartless, they decimate Burmecia. They were just about to mobilize against [[Cleyra]], before the world was devoured into darkness. When they came back into the light, they found themselves far closer to the Lindblum borders than comfortable.
