=The Name Of The King= Once upon a time, there was a hero greater than any other. A swordsman without peer, he was called the greatest of the Knights of Cornelia; without fail, he slaughtered countless enemies, defending the kingdom and the land from innumerable destructive forces. As he fought, he became enraptured by the battle; as the legend goes, the hero fell into the darkness, and gave his soul to Chaos. He was defeated by the Light Warriors, and peace reigned across the world, or so the story goes. But stories are always more complicated than they appear...especially where the villainous Garland is concerned. A warrior of Chaos through and through, Garland is one of the foremost champions of the Darkness; he has joined with the Heartless for the sake of spreading destruction throughout the land, undermining peace and happiness wherever he can. =The Power That Brings Ruin To The Worlds= He is called Garland, and his power is dark and terrible. An ageless, ancient master of sword and spell alike, the monstrous Garland bears many titles and many names: The Ironclad Nightmare, The Midnight Tyrant, The King Of Shadows, The Destruction Knight, The Champion of Chaos. Unfortunately, it is all too clear from the brief interactions that the people of the worlds have had with him that each and every one of these titles is well-earned and well-deserved; Garland is a self-serving force of absolute destruction, single-mindedly focused on something he refers to as the Samsara Of Battle - the continual flow of war and destruction. He holds no love, keeps no friends, and acknowledges only a terribly few as his equal. Unfortunately, so far, all those Garland considers his equal are his cohorts in the Shadow Lords. The Champion of Chaos's arrogance is certainly not without reason. Garland is a master warrior; his skill at combat is so far unrivalled, earned and honed over the countless centuries of his life. Whether blade or fist or bow or gun, weapons find comfort in Garland's hands; the dark lord has long since mastered all of them, though his favored weapon continues to be the sword, harkening back to his ancient days as a knight of Corneria and the memories of honor that once he held. Garland only rarely wields a shield, preferring to let his natural durability and massive armor take blows both mystic and physical; he tends to sacrifice defense for attack, pushing through openings as opponents struggle to land truly meaningful blows on his person. Backing up his skill is, of course, his monstrous strength; Garland is more than capable of tearing a man to pieces with his bare hands; he tends to wield his greatsword in one hand, and has no problems moving fluidly despite the bulky armor that he wears. Whatever he lacks in power, he more than makes up for in experience. Not that Garland lacks much in power. Even without his enormous physical strength, Garland is an impressive magus, specializing in brute-force magical applications. He is one of the few alive to know the forbidden spell NUKE, a mystical explosion of atomic forces capable of dealing enormous damage to the surrounding area - and, normally, the caster. It is a testament to Garland's ferocity that each spell he casts is not a simple burst of magic, but rather a physical demand on mystic forces to bend to Garland's will. Still, this mystical might comes from more than simply years of experience and practice; whatever fuels Garland, besides his pure and unrelenting fury, only Garland can truly say. The most terrible of Garland's observed abilities, however, is his overwhelming and almighty darkness. Garland's Darkness is overwhelming enough to call pureblood Heartless to him with little more than a thought; when unleashed, it can snuff out even the most powerful lights of a world, consuming everything into the all-encompassing void that is Garland's black and terrible heart. Only a true Princess Of Heart's Light can equal and counter Garland's Darkness; all else is swallowed up into the shadows of the Ironclad Nightmare. Fortunately for the worlds, Garland finds the presence of a Princess of Heart toxic, and tends to avoid them whenever possible.
