Notes About Player of Blivon/Queegmaa:

I play everything by ear.

If I'm comfortable with something, I'll go with it. If I'm not, I won't. Anything that is fanon-related, whether powers or the character's nature(as in, is not elaborated upon within the source material in specific ways) will remain undefined unless I volunteer of my own free will to establish the particular mechanics of said things, and play them to the letter as they were described in my application that was approved.

I will try to be open-minded and give everyone a chance, as long as I receive respect and civility; failing that, I will allow those who don't like my style to live in peace, and go their own separate way, as opposed to threatening harm upon the person for refusing to be compatible with me, or my character. I am here to add to the community, and not to subtract from it.

If you express displeasure at my presence, you are free to explain to me why you feel as such, and to offer /constructive/ criticism, but please be prepared for a rebuttal, and as stated before, anyone who loses their temper or reacts immaturely will probably be barred from communication, since I disagree a poisoned atmosphere of professional discourse, and don't feel that rational discussion can take place when one person isn't able to think clearly. Most of us who are on this game are adults. I will treat everyone like an adult up until they have demonstrated they deserve otherwise. I believe this is the respectful thing to do; do you not agree?

And, finally, I want to say that I hope everyone here is able to do whatever they need to do to get by, whether that involves endorsing me, or rejecting me. I do not expect the whole world to be my friend; this goes for the online one, as well. You have a right to feel about me as you please, as long as you honor my privacy, should I ask for it. I do not condemn malicious thought, just misbehavior.

....And even then, I /try/ to show some tolerance. Good luck to you all in your endeavors; if you believe you would enjoy interacting with me or my characters, regardless of who you are, or whom I might have had misgivings with in the past, I am offering everybody a totally clean slate. Grudges weigh a lot, and we'll all be dead soon enough, so, why bother being concerned with a small, unfriendly verbal exchange.

Schedule-Wise:

I should be available on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and either Sunday or Saturday, if one decides to get in touch with me in advance to set something up; beyond this, I can promise nothing, and even then, real life trumps online games, so I may have to shuffle a Thursday, Tuesday, Saturday, or Sunday to the back of the deck if more important stuff comes up, however, if a promise is made to accommodate someone for a scene, I will do my absolute best to honor my agreement, or be forthcoming about making it up to the person, if there is some kind of crisis that prevents me from fulfilling my obligations.

My ambition here is to make this place more enjoyable for all, but I have other responsibilities as well, and my schedule may be subject to change if life changes, so this is not set in stone. All that aside, I hope if we've RPed together, that you enjoyed it, and if you think you may want to interact with me, feel free to @mail me. Seeing that I log in on the aforementioned days, that is when it can be assumed I will read my @mail.

-I don't do a lot of combat, because my character isn't into it, and it's rare that I can find a justification for Valos to do battle with others, since he's not a far cry from pacifistic. I'm not utterly opposed to battle, but there are higher odds Valos will ICly try to find a way to avoid conflict, or something of that nature. I do consent to death for my character, but that is provided my opponent accepts the same terms; what's canon is canon, and that takes precedence over allowing OOC leak into IC. I'm not signing away his life to just anyone who waltzes by and decides to challenge him, but if you plan to try to kill him, you must specify this 'first', and then I can decide if I'll agree to do battle or not, depending on how I feel, since I suspect some players might be uncomfortable with my presence on the game, and may be eager to take the opportunity to ice Valos(since I'm offering it). For the most part, combat doesn't interest me that much, on an OOC level, and ICly, it doesn't hold much allure for Valos, so if you just want a kick of adrenaline by crossing swords with someone, Valos is probably not your best bet. Also, for those western-biased individuals who are unfamiliar/ignorant with/to various philosophies and lifestyles far and wide, Valos is a practitioner of an art referred to as, 'refocusing', which allows one to endure punishment without giving much thought to sensations of 'pain' or pleasure', which many westerners tend to obsess over(avoid pain, seek pleasure, etc). As such, if he's being attacked, you should not expect that he is going to express a lot of feeling one way or another, as far as comfort or discomfort, in any given scenario.

-Valos' primary calling on FK is interaction with other characters. His very occupation has been, since his arrival on the game, philosophizing, which means that he's liable to do more talking than fighting. For starters, because he sees himself as an intellect, he prefers the pen to the sword, because to him, any angry person without self-control can pick up a sharp object and start swinging it around, whereas it takes a disciplined mind to restrain ones inner feelings while trying to take the most objective path, and in the real world, in fact, according to various sources I've read, 90% of criminals are criminals because they have an inability to subdue their inner demons. Valos is by all accounts, a man who prefers not to pollute the atmosphere of civil discourse by threatening people, calling them by extremely derogatory names, or things of this nature. He's practically as diametrical as ostentatious as one can get, while still being able to remain as a playable character, so he's unlikely to initiate contact with others unless there's a utilitarian reason for it; socialization is not seen as practical, because he has no concern over being loved or hated.... and if you don't need attention from others, let's be serious for a moment.... why on Earth would you start a conversation with someone? Curiosity is his one weakness- emotionally.... As an intellectual who seeks to advance his knowledge, he welcomes new information to add to his collective, whether it's disparaging or praising, and if he thinks someone has data that he could use, he'll try to attain it, assuming it doesn't violate his code of ethics, which is not to pry unless he somehow compensates his conversational partner. I will try, for the most part, to accommodate people seeking RP with me, but it has to adhere to canon, and I may not come up immediately with a justification for why Valos would approach someone else, if you feel your character isn't prone towards being proactive. I will try my best to work something out with you, but if it doesn't work out, then I won't blame you, because to scapegoat someone would suggest that they are beholden to me to begin with, which is not the case; if we are not compatible, we simply aren't compatible.... you are not at fault because you never owed me anything to begin with.

-I pose slowly, and I incorporate a narrative style, which may include information that your character doesn't have immediate access to, which in retrospect, means that if you want to RP with me, expect our scene to be time-consuming, and to possibly have to deal with a scene-pause if we don't finish up during our first session. Again, as I said above, if you aren't compatible with this, I'm not going to persecute you- you were not indebted to me to begin with, so what right do I have to scorn you for choosing not to RP with me, because your preferences don't match mine? That said, if you feel you'd like to RP with me, feel free to page. I am not the most gushy, affectionate person on the planet, but I'm not a vicious monster who is out to get you; I am just here to RP, no more, no less. I'm not here to make friends or enemies, but over the course of my stay, it may happen, regardless, because I know most of you folks out there are fairly human, which I can't blame you for, because I too was human at one time, haha!
