As fellow members of a cooperative role-playing game, it's important that staff and players work together to ensure Final Kingdom is a friendly and courteous environment for newcomers and old hands alike. Staff are here to answer questions, help mediate disputes as best they can, and -- if they're able -- aid you in running your plots and scenes. No staff member can be a replacement for a player's own maturity and ingenuity. Nevertheless, staff can help provide some of the structure necessary to ensure this game stays smooth and fun.

Final Kingdom's guidelines on what can be expected of staff are as follows:

  • If a player sends in a +request or e-mail, staff should respond within three (3) days. Once that time passes, feel free to ask a staff member to check up on it. Please be patient and polite, though.
  • If a staff member is online and not AFK, you're welcome to ask them a question about the game via channel or page. If they don't have the answer, they'll refer you to someone who does. Here on Final Kingdom, we strongly encourage staff members not to go "dark" and hide themselves, and remain available for simple queries.
  • If a player has a problem with another player, this can be privately reported to staff, who is responsible for sharing this information with fellow staff members and deciding if action should be taken. More seriously, if a player feels harassed by another player, a staff member who is informed of this must report it immediately to fellow staff so as to take swift action. OOC harassment or bullying of any kind will not be tolerated.
  • Everyone, staff and player alike, is encouraged to actively create RP and make the world of Final Kingdom as lively a place as it can be. If a player needs help running a scene or organizing a plot, they may send in a +request with the specifics or page a staffer if they have one in mind. However, please know that staff members are not obligated to help players run scenes. If you would like help running a boss encounter or just getting your thoughts together, it's best to ask in advance.
  • Staff members must not use OOC knowledge for their IC advantage, in combat or in role-playing. Players are asked in turn to give staffers the benefit of the doubt and trust in their integrity. Any serious concerns about staff cheating or unfair privileging should be reported to the headwiz.

Staff members each have their own role, as can be seen on +stafflist. Be sure to go to the appropriate staffer if you can based on the nature of your inquiry. At the end of the day, though, everyone's here to try to make sure the game is fun, fair, and not frustrating -- so if you ever need some help, don't be shy.
