Cast of Characters: | Riku, Sho Minamimoto |
- Sho Minamimoto has posed:
It's a horrible night to have a curse.
Good thing Sho doesn't have one. He is, however, hungry. Even Reapers eat, after all. So he picked up a burger (and didn't even Erase the vendor), sitting on top of a skyscraper and munching on it thoughtfully while looking down at the busy, brilliantly lighted streets below. The full moon rises in the distance, making for a very dramatic silhouette.
- Riku has posed:
Riku walks across the street with his hands in his pockets, a raven on his shoulder. "Yes. I told him already." the bird squawks to which Riku shrugs the other shoulder than the bird was on. "Who knows. We'll have to see." he looks around for someplace to eat, having forgotten to do so the last couple of times he thought about it and now somewhat famished.
He runs a hand through his hair, which stands out somewhat as he walks along the street at night looking around without really paying attention to that first rule of security. Always look up.
- Sho Minamimoto has posed:
Sho, in his watching, sees something interesting. "Oho. The undefined product." He says to himself. He pulls the burger out of its wrapper, and crumples it. Carefully, he estimates the weight of the ball, the trajectory, the wind speed, distance, movement... For most people, the calculations would be impossible to do on the fly, let alone in their head.
Sho Minamimoto is not most people. With a casual ease, he flicks the paper ball, letting it fall 50 stories down to the street, where the ball should deflect off of the bird on the kid's shoulder.
Yes, he's a jerk like that.
- Riku has posed:
Diablo squawks in complete indignation as a burger wrapper /boinks/ off his back. All of his feathers ruffle up almost at once, the raven flying off Riku's shoulder and craning his head around.
A faint purple sheen hazes off his feathers as Riku blinks, startled and a little confused as he tries to make sense of what he heard. He looks around, kneeling down to pick up the burger wrapper and look up and around him. "the hell?"
His attention is drawn to yon dramatic silohuette as Diablo squawks again, this time in annoyance. Riku grimaces as Diablo lands on a nearby building, grumbling.
"Yeah. That sounds like the one I told you about. Junkman." he looks at the burger wrapper, snorting faintly in annoyance as he tosses it away.
- Sho Minamimoto has posed:
Aw, he's not taking the bait. Oh well.
Sho shrugs, sighing overdramatically. Now he's got to actually /move/. "Keep this up and I'm going to get as lazy as Kariya." Sho laughs to himself. "And TANGENT!" With his cry, Sho leaps off of the building, flipping in a spinning, mathematically-perfect dive as he streaks for the ground.
Unfortunately, as much as Riku would hope, he doesn't splat into the pavement. He nails the landing, perfectly calculated for optimal rotation and force, and smiles, holding out a hand to his side to catch the half-eaten burger. "So, if it isn't the undefined product, out on a walk. How are you doing, kid?" He'd sound almost friendly, if he didn't have that ultrafocused gaze and that friendly smile that is a favorite of arrogant douchebags and axe murderers the world over.
- Riku has posed:
Riku decides that if the destruction of-- well anyways. No jerkass reaper is going to get under his skin right now. So he feigns not being impressed by the perfect landing and also refrains from rolling his eyes. Instead he gives a similar smile, honed by the cold anger he starts to feel in the back of his mind when he thinks about that buzzing cacophony in Traverse Town.
"Game master, was it? I'm fine. Just going to get something to eat." he attempts to move past Sho to continue farther down the street while Diablo peers down from the building and watches them both.
- Sho Minamimoto has posed:
Sho laughs and steps over to block Riku's way. The smile just makes him grin more widely. "Food, eh? SOH-CAH-TOA. This burger place wasn't too bad." He holds up the half-burger and then chucks it over his shoulder.
It hits a random passerby in the back of the head. Sho doesn't even care. "But what's the hurry? You've got a few unknown variables in your equation that I'd love to resolve." He folds his hands together and pushes them outwards, popping his knuckles. "So. Seriously, you're not a Reaper, but you can control Noise. /My/ Noise. Explain."
- Riku has posed:
Riku's smile widens. He watches the arc of the burger, then the thwack. As his eyes track back to Sho he gives a similar laugh of scorn. "No." a flat, unconcerned denial. "Although I think I know that burger place. It's not bad." and again, he attempts to move past Sho and continue on his way.
- Sho Minamimoto has posed:
This time, Sho pleasantly lets Riku pass. As Riku does so, Sho replies nonchalantly, "So, I guess you don't know then... What that means." He casts his gaze up at the bird observing the pair as he talks. "It won't be a problem, I suppose." He folds his hands behind his back, tilting on his heels.
- Riku has posed:
"As far as you know." Riku throws a hand backwards in farewell as he walks down the street. He stops, trying to orient himself to where the nearest burger joint was before his appetite completely vanished from having to deal with the jerk behind him. Diablo looks down at Sho curiously, head tilting to one side. Riku says in a flat voice from the corner. "But go ahead. Keep talking. I know you will anyways."
- Sho Minamimoto has posed:
"You're so negative!" Sho responds. "It's hilarious to watch, really. You take yourself way too seriously, you know?" He strolls over to stand next to Riku. "Tell me, undefined product." He tilts his head slightly. "Do you enjoy games?"
- Riku has posed:
Riku groans faintly. This is just NOT going to go anywhere good is it. He crosses the street, still stubbornly determined not to let anything get inbetween him and a double bacon cheeseburger. "What is it going to take to get you to go away? Take a hint, junkman. Whatever it is your selling. I'm not interested." Diablo snickers in the background which Riku distinctly ignores.
- Sho Minamimoto has posed:
"Hah, you think I'm selling something. BZZZT! Invalid solution! Why would I give anything to you? You've already taken from me, and that's not balanced at all!"
Sho sighs, shrugging. "Are you really going to make me do this? I didn't really want to work today, but fine. Sometimes, you just gotta plot it out." He gestures down the street, at the aforementioned burger place. "Now, let's iterate." Sho grins. "How about you tell me what I want to know, and I don't erase your dinner and everyone around it." He asides, "They didn't give me extra cheese."
- Riku has posed:
"Go ahead. Do what you've got to do." Riku continues to walk down the street. Diablo squawks harshly, causing the teenager to slow to a halt looking up at the raven who has moved down to a light post. "Really?" He eyes Diablo with considerable ire before giving a grudging nod. "Okay." he says with grit teeth, turning to face Sho again. "What do you want?"
- Sho Minamimoto has posed:
Sho watches the exchange with considerable amusement. "You're taking orders from the /bird/? This is zetta hilarious!" He looks over to Riku. "I've already defined my terms. How did you control my Noise?"
- Riku has posed:
Riku smiles coldly and shrugs. "He had a good point. You also didn't define how detailed an explaination you wanted. So hey--" he raises his hands. "It's /MAGIC/."
- Sho Minamimoto has posed:
Sho simply smiles. It's the kind of smile you see on a shark before it takes a nice big bite. "All right, that explains everything! I suppose I'll just head off now." He takes two steps away, and then stops, tapping his head. "I'm forgetting something..." Suddenly, he turns and points a hand at the burger joint, a crackling red sphere of energy growing there. "Oh right, I remember now! YOU FACTORING ZEROS FORGOT THE EXTRA CHEESE!"
The ball explodes from his hand, streaking towards the burger joint.
- Riku has posed:
"Your right Dee. I do need this." Riku pulls it all back to the forefront. The frustration and the doubt and the anger he'd been holding onto the last few days. But this time it's him that is in control instead of the other way around. He had to be to do the things he had to do.
Without looking, he points back towards the burger joint and closes his hand as if crushing something. A burger wrapper perhaps. It's a little difficult to control but he keeps that off his face as darkness streaks after the energy, not to collide with it forcefully and cause an explosion of force vs force, but to drain all the energy away before it reached the target. "Could you at LEAST wait until after I've eaten to throw a tantrum?"
- Sho Minamimoto has posed:
The sphere explodes, knocking several passing bystanders off their feet, but no more than that. They quickly stand and get the hell out of Dodge. Sho doesnt't seem bothered by this at all. "I don't know. Could you at least answer my question for real instead of giving me a bunch of irrational factoring hectopascals?" He pauses for a moment. "Didn't think so."
- Riku has posed:
"Oh yes. Screaming math terms at people from the top of heap of junk until your beaten into a thin paste is the height of rationality." he shakes his head. Last chance.
"I don't care about who you think you are. Mostly your just a careless jerk and I don't have time for you. So I'll make you a deal. I'll give you a real answer as long as you go away and don't interfere with my work."
- Sho Minamimoto has posed:
Sho raises a finger. "Kill all the Noise you like. But you've never seen the degree of my power. You're getting out of your vector." He smiles, and then shrugs. "Anyway, that's a deal. Let's hear it."
- Riku has posed:
Riku is disappointed on some level and at the same time relieved. He contents himself with the thought of picking up this 'discussion' on another day. "It's the music." the teenager rubs the back of his neck. "The stuff you have cranked up so loud whenever your Noise are around. You had too many--" he tries to reinterpret this in his head, but the 'feelings' sense that the heartless give off are only somewhat similar to how Noise 'sound' in his head.
"songs going on at once to keep track of them all." he doesn't point out that's not quite how he approached it, but he asked for a real answer. Not the whole answer. "So I took them away from you."
- Sho Minamimoto has posed:
"Hah. Some Old Horses Can Always Hear Their Owner Approach." Sho looks interested in this. "In that case, I'll keep to my end of the bargain. I won't get in your way anymore." A Corridor of Darkness opens up behind Sho and he backs into it. He vanishes, then...
But his voice is heard, amused. "But you didn't specify for how long..."
He does not, however, reappear. FOR NOW.
