Mysidia is a combination of many Mysidia and magical cities. This is one of the most influential cities in the world, and the origin of many mages within the World of Ruin. There is a certain amount of tension within however - especially with the city still needing to be repaired bit by bit - as some houses were displaced within one-another.
It is now led by the Order of Magi - a group of all of the Mysidian Elders from each world. They control the magic university as well - which is not under any military rule - but simply serves as a source of magical learning. Under them are the Order of the Northern Sky - who keep their city protected from both monsters and heartless. In addition, they keep the knight academy running on the edge of the city. |
Final Fantasy Four
Mysidia is a city founded by the Sage Minwu, who drifted ashore 500 years the coming of Cecil. Practicing magic was initially a benevolent hobby accessible to everybody in this world, but people eventually became corrupted by power and competition.
Minwu was enraged by this and sealed away magic, putting an end to the Old Age of Magic. He later restored magic but made it so that only certain persons could use it, and this became the start of the New Age of Magic.
The city is inhabited by wizards, and it is ruled by an elder. Longer than can be remembered, this city used to hold the Crystal of Water. However, upon the coming of Baron's Red Wings and its Dark Knight, Cecil, they lose this valuable item.
And whilst Dark Knight Cecil leaves the city, Golbez has made it so that the soldiers that have fallen - felled by the Wizards who resisted - turn into beacons for Heartless. It is only through the sheer might of magic in this city, that it did not fall.
Cecil never gets a chance to return to this city however, as the forces of darkness in this world quickly grow stronger, and shift the balance of the world. Unlike some worlds, this one falls to darkness quickly. And when Mysidia finds itself once again in the new one...
It finds itself partially at odds with another city which has integrated with theirs - and the group that ruled over this place named 'Gariland'.
Although the Order of the Northern Sky initially creates trouble for the Elders of Mysidia, the city soon finds itself rebuilding and with extra protection. But what will happen now?
