How Stitch Got a Police Hat
Date of Scene: 17 January 2013
Location: Traverse Town - District 2
Synopsis: CAPGRAS, in the guise as Liz encounters Ingrid and Stitch. Nobody knows if this is a net gain for Restoration OR Ruin...
Cast of Characters: Stitch, CAPGRAS, Ingrid Third

CAPGRAS has posed:
In the city of Traverse Town, a little girl recently was kidnapped by heartless, only to be returned thanks to the efforts of the TDA. However, the little girl was kept under the ward of the TDA, except right now when she managed to get outside of the office and go back to walking around. She tours the city...almost like she had never been here before (despite the fact she's been a resident sense the fall of Manhattan) and is famous for a rabbit that has been used to great effectiveness to kill Heartless.

Right now, she is staring at the fountain, almost like she's trying to understand it's function...and horribly failing at it. She puts her hand into the water once, and yanks it right back out, shivering...

"Cold.." she comments, and sets the rabit down on the edge of the fountain, which stays perfectly still...well, that's not odd given it's a stuffed animal.
Ingrid Third has posed:
There are many young girls in Traverse Town as it is a fairly bustling city since the fall of Manhattan and the relocation of so many refugees, however, there is another one of particular note that is present in this district as well. Ingrid's military-style combat boots crunch on the smooth stone as she wanders down the wide streets, weaving through the crowds with a casual stride. Her eyes scan the faces of everyone that she passes by, lingering only a moment to commit their features to her incredible memory.

Eventually her meandering path carries her to the next district and through the wide plaza that has become the unofficial gathering place for most of the social mingling that goes on in the town. Perhaps the fountain and the open space reminds the former big city residents of their grand parks. Ingrid crosses the zone, keeping her eyes on the shadowy corners and alleyways as the Heartless have been known to ambush people from there, according to rumors.

There are no shadowy demons to assault anyone today, however, atleast for the moment. Drawing up next to the small girl at the fountain, Ingrid slips her backpack off and rests it down against the white marble edge with a sigh. All of this gear was actually pretty heavy for someone her size. "Hey there. Nice rabbit," Ingrid leans forward and splashes some water on her face, rubbing at her tired eyes. Six hours of searching the town with no better results than the day before.
Stitch has posed:
Hmmmm. Many Young Girls, eh? Well, that would happen to be why Sherlock Stitch is here in the Traverse Town himself. The fluffy blue alien is decked out in what can only be described as Holmes Attire, as he's sporting a huge Sherlock Holmes hat, which is way too big for his widdle head and occasionally blows bubbles out of his bubble pipe as he makes his way down the street and in the general direction of the fountain.

He's humming some random Elvis song to himself as he skip-step-sttop-fix hat-skip-steps in that direction. Eventually, he gets close enough to the fountain to utter, "Hmmmmm." at it in that drastically over cuteness tone of his. And from out of nowhere, Sherlock Stitch reveals an enormous magnifying glass which he uses to inspect the fountain. And there he goes, wandering around the fountain, looking at it through a magnifying glass... and nothing else.

"No worry, Lilo. Stitch find you." His ears go down a little bit in sadness. "Promise." Poor Stitch.
CAPGRAS has posed:
The little girl looks up at Ingrid for a moment, examining her a bit. She looks back to the water as Ingrid splashes her face, and she looks at the water confused.

Shrugging, she mimics the action, splashing it into her face and causing her to look surprised. Wiping her face from it, and shivering she frowns...she really is starting to hate Fountains! Instead, she mumbles something and takes the rabbit in her hands. "Uh..thanks, ma'am." she says, a bit timid...she is a stranger, and older, but not too much older.

CAPGRAS however, understands that the girl to her right is...tired, it indicates several signs of exhaustion, based on the information the little girl understood. Tired, or sad...

No tears, so it decides tired. THEN STITCH INTERUPT. The little girl looks at the alien, staring at it for a minute....CAPGRAS does something she is not entirely sure why she does it...but she walks over to the strange alien... and tries to pick it up with a hug.
Ingrid Third has posed:
Wiping the water and hopefully some of the fatigue from her face, Ingrid turns to peer over at the girl with a faint smile as she mimics her but apparently finds the cool liquid to be rather less refreshing than herself. "I'm Ingrid. Nice to meet yo--woah?!"

The sudden arrival of Stitchlock Homles makes the SeeD cadet jump backwards, hand going for the tonfa at her waist. A monster here in town? How did it get this far without any screaming or commotion? However, she pauses -- the fact that everyone could clearly see them and no one was reacting was strange. Besides, monsters don't usually dress so... adorably.

Relaxing slightly, Ingrid straightens up and smoothes her jacket out, peering towards Stitch and the little girl. Perhaps it is just the natural affinity for children to enjoy cute and cuddly things but she is far more bold than Ingrid would be in these cirumstances. "Hey maybe you should... nevermind."
Stitch has posed:
Stitch, for the record, is really, really, really heavy. It's possible to pick him up but it is likely harder than it looks like it would be, considering the nature of this creature's creation. Right now, though, he's kind of focused on the fact that his magnifying glass has fallen from his paw and he just sort of frowns a bit more. He huffs in the next moment, his Stitchlock Holmes hat falling down over his face as much as it possibly can.

"Ih. Ih. Hiiiiii." Stitch looks more annoyed than anything that he is being hugged right now, but immediately starts trying to wriggle free so that he can drop back down to the ground and scurry for his magnifying glass. It's brand new! -Really- brand new. It still has the price tag on it.

Scooping it up, he looks from one girl to the other and then back again. Head tilting and eye peering through the magnifying glass as if inspecting them with it is going to make everything that much clearer. "Seen Lilo?" is asked of both girls, as if they just automatically know what he's talking about. He immediately flumps back down and yanks off his hat, digging around until he comes out with a crude crayon drawn picture of Lilo that may or may not actually look like her in any capacity. He waves it at them. Help.
CAPGRAS has posed:
The girl is surprised by Stitch being both heavy, and able to get out of her grasp! She litterally looks surprised, and stumbles back. Thinking about Stitch for a moment, she reconsiders...and picks up the rabit again and looks at Ingrid. "I'm Liz.." she says, a little disppointed, and looks back towards Stitch. She tilts her head to one side, and looks at the picture....

"...I haven't seen this." she says, looking at the figure drawn in crayon. "Maybe you should go to Hearts Intertwined..? They take care of me, because mommy and daddy are gone." she says, softly. "They are looking for them, and taking care of me while I wait." continues and looks towards Ingrid.

"Are you searching too?"
Ingrid Third has posed:
Crossing her arms, Ingrid takes a few steps foward and peers at the crude drawing without blinking for a few moments, trying to decipher some recognizable features out of the messy crayon scribbles. It is supposed to be a girl, guessing more from the name than the picture. "Uh... no, I can't say that I've seen her... sorry."

Her gaze switches back to the girl, Liz she said, and she smiles again. "That's a good idea, Liz. Hearts Intertwined is a charity organization that feeds and shelters the homeless," she explains for Stitch. "If your friend got lost or seperated from her parents she might have ended up there."

A nod is given to the girl and she reaches into her jacket, withdrawing a small black fold of leather which she flips open to reveal a shiny brass triangular badge with the words Safety Patrol embossed around a large star. "Ingrid Third, Safety Patrol and SeeD cadet. I'm here on business. We got reports of large numbers of people disappearing in this area, especially around the beach. I've been searching for some clues as to their whereabouts but haven't had any luck yet." She closes the badge and tucks it away again. "If you like I could look for your friend Lilo while I'm at it."
Stitch has posed:
"No Parents. Just Nani." Stitch tries to explain the best he can. It's not like he really understands it anyway. He just knows what he heard. And even that isn't that much. He shoves the picture back into his hat and throws it back onto his head in the next moment, before he just kind of sits and pouts for a bit more. But then, everyone is introducing themselves and that has him pushing up and standing as tall (ha!) as he can. Clawed fingers go to his own chest and he announces proudly, "Stitch!"

And then there's something shiny being presented. "Oooooo." Stitch's eyes are lit up at the Safety Patrol Badge. He watches it until it is tucked away again, after which he just frowns. It takes his brain a half-second to catch up with the conversation because all he can think about is wanting to take that badge. But that would be a bad thing. Right? Right. "Stitch help!" The little blue alien nods his head at Ingrid, at the mention of searching and beaches. "Stitch go with you!"

If Stitch is understanding any of this Hearts Intertwined stuff, he's not showing it. But at least he looks ready to help!
CAPGRAS has posed:
Liz looks between Stitch and Ingrid...

Is that Jealousy?

"I think he wants to help you. It is probably a good thing he does...the heartless are dangerous." she says, with a nod...

"They come for you...and take you away to a strange place with a strange man with lines. He gets mad if you run away." she says again, with a faint nod with something like understanding.

"Well, sense you have a partner, I can tell you how to activate him." she says again.

PRESS SQUARE TO SKIP THE TUTORIAL!
Ingrid Third has posed:
"Uh, that's okay, Liz." Ingrid holds up a hand, cutting the girl off from saying anything more.

TUTORIAL SKIPPED.

With the shiny badge safely secured, the SeeD cadet peers back at the two of them as they both chip in their help in different ways. The newly introduced Stitch gets a nod in response. "Nice to meet you, Stitch. Hmm, I suppose I don't have any problems with you tagging along. An extra pair of eyes never hurts."

Liz's sudden revelation causes her eyes to go wide and she turns back to stare at the girl. "Wait... are you saying you've been abducted by the Heartless?" Wait! Her photographic memory is tingling! Suddenly obsessed with some random thought, Ingrid walks over to her backpack and digs through one of the many pouches until she produces a manilla envelope. Flipping through it reveals dossiers and pictures on the missing people but she quickly thumbs through them until coming to a familiar face.

"Crackers...! You're one of the missing people in my report." She tucks the folder back in the pocket and walks over to rest a hand on Liz's shoulder. "Hey, your friends have been really worried about you. What can you tell me about the place where the Heartless took you? Did you see any other people there?"
CAPGRAS has posed:
Liz looks towards Ingrid, and nods...

"It was dark...scary looking. I really didn't see anything...but I managed to run...and I dunno how but I found my way back here." She says, shaking her head...she looks like she's shaking a little. "The heartless came back for me...and Emi and her sister saved me. They took me to the TDA to talk, but I slipped out." she says, "I didn't see anyone else...the heartless were all...bugs and weird. The man there had lines on him." she says, hugging the rabbit closer to herself.
Stitch has posed:
Stitch is already attempting to make sure that he's in like flint with both of these girls, really. He's a little too busy listening to really understand what may or may not be happening at this moment. He's clearly just trying to stay in the middle of them both. They both seem like they can assist with finding Lilo and that's the most important thing to him right now.

"Ac-ti-vait?" Stitch tilts his head at Liz, before turning too look at Ingrid. His eyes grow big and he's diving off in her direction, immediately reaching out to see if he can't snatch that manilla envelope. He is clearly attempting to take a gander for his own self in regards to seeing if Lilo is in that pile of pictures and dossiers of missing people. Granted, this could result in pictures and papers being thrown all over the place, but that's only if Stitch is quick enough.

"Jumba activate Stitch!" That should be an explanation
Ingrid Third has posed:
Stitch manages to tackle the folder out of her grasp as Ingrid goes to put it away again, which causes her to yank her hand away in surprise. "Hey! Be care--" And then paper and pictures start flying. Her eyes narrow to reflect the annoyance this brings her tidy nature. "--ful. Ugh, whatever." Fortunately, most of the important information was already stored in her head so she leaves the strange creature to maul her files in peace.

Liz's story causes her to place a hand on her chin and hum thoughtfully. "Very strange. Excuse me a moment, would you, Liz?" She gives the girl a reassuring squeeze on the shoulder before wandering away to sit on the banister of some nearby stone stairs out of earshot of the others.

A small phone-like communicator is withdrawn from a small holster on her belt and she flips it open, dialing a few numbers from memory. "Hey, Tehama? Ingrid, can you run a check for me and see if there are any reports of Heartless capturing people alive in the past? Also I need a run down of an organization called the 'TDA'."

A female voice comes through, should anyone have strong enough hearing to pick it out. "Sure thing, Ingrid. The reports will take some time to search but I can tell you what we know about the TDA right now. The files on them indicate that they are a freelance detective agency. Formerly based in Manhattan, now relocated to Traverse Town. Run by a man by the name of Mercade Alexander. I'm sending you a photo now."

"Thanks. Oh and see if the names Lilo or Stitch bring up any matches while you're at it."

"I'm on it."
Stitch has posed:
Hypersensitive Hearing has Stitch listening in to the conversation, while making the paperwork and pictures fly all over the place. He's not going to be cleaning it up either. When the last picture is hurled off in a random direction, Stitch pouts and ends up scurrying back over to where Liz and Ingrid are, flumping down onto the ground and just looking back and forth between the two of them. He sighs somewhat overdramatically. "Stitch miss Lilo." is muttered underneath his breath, before his ear twitches as he finally catches up on the Liz part of this conversation. And that's when he turns to look at her!

"You!" He leaps dramatically and aims to grab and shake the Liz with very excited and epic intentions. "Take Stitch to Heartless!" He looks like he's getting angry. Not at Liz. But at the thought of the Heartless!
CAPGRAS has posed:
Liz looks confused, as Ingrid gave her a comforting shoulder squeeze and wondered off. Odd...

CAPGRAS didn't understand it, but she observes...her hearing overheard the phone conversation, but she instead just simply records this all for later...

And then suddenly STITCH!

Liz flails, screaming a little as she is caught by surprise and falls over.

"Noooo...No heartless!" she says, trying not cry. She holds the bunny at Stitch threateningly!
Ingrid Third has posed:
The sudden screaming and shaking as she turns around causes Ingrid to gape for a moment before she kicks into action. From where she was standing it looked like the monsterous, if cute, Stitch had finally shown his true colors!

The tonfa at her side comes out, several pieces of Materia embedded in its polycarbon shaft gleaming with internal power. She rushes back over to the fountain and grabs the furry little blue demon, trying to pull him away from the frightened girl. The unexpected weight of the monster catches her offguard and when she heaves and nothing happens, Ingrid just blinks and steps away, twirling her tonfa defensively at her side.

"Crackers, you weigh a ton!" She shakes her head and glares at Stitch with determinatin. "You need to back away, Stitch. You're scaring her."
Stitch has posed:
Blink. Blink blink.

Stitch throws his hands up and backs away... just a little bit. He drops down to all fours and his mouth is still open, drool pooling out of it at a somewhat alarming rate. He just looks at both of the girls and ends up sitting in the most dog style manner he can. He tilts his head, as if trying to comprehend what just happened and what he did wrong. "Stitch sorry..." comes from the little blue alien, as he tries to apologize. He's even got an apologetic look in his big, adorable, eyes.

BIG EYES.

"Heartless... took Lilo." Stitch explains. Well, at least that's what he's thinking happened. Stitch makes motions with his claws from himself to the Liz & Ingrid connection. He just wants to help.
CAPGRAS has posed:
Liz calms down after a moment, she takes a breath...

CAPGRAS is completely confused at her reaction...this form is...emotional. Hm, it might be time to dump this form for a older and more mature one in the near future.

The bunny is clutched to her, as she considers Stitch for a moment, and then frowns.. "Oh..." she says, "I'm sorry." and then back to Ingrid, and gives her a strained smile, "T-thanks." she manages, and then back to Stitch. "I...I think you need to find who's making the heartless do things...not the heartless."
Ingrid Third has posed:
The older girl gives Stitch a skeptical stare for several moments, eyes narrowing slightly but eventually the power of the eyes overcomes her resistances and she sighs, sheathing her weapon again. "Fine, fine, enough with the puppy eyes. Just tone down the energy a little."

Turning back to Liz, Ingrid again pats her on the shoulder to calm her down. "Don't mention it. He seems harmless, I think he just has a little trouble communicating." The suggestion makes her pause, recalling something else that the girl said before. "Liz, this 'man with lines on him', what can you tell me about him? Do you think he was behind the Heartless attack or was he taken like you were?"
Stitch has posed:
Stitch stops the eyes the moment he's not being scolded anymore. Which, honestly, makes it seem like he wasn't even sorry in the first place. He's up and running around at this point, grabbing things that probably belong to other things. There's the sound of metal crunching and twisting, which couples with the sound of hammering and slamming and to try and keep up with Stitch's movements would be somewhat hard to do. But then again, he's done by the time the girls have finished this part of their conversation.

It looks like he's built a weapon, of some sort? It looks like an axe. A jagged toothed axe made from...

Somewhere in the distance, a lightbulb falls and smashes.

... that street light. "Stitch ready!" Time to kill some Heartless!
CAPGRAS has posed:
Liz turns back to Ingrid and nods.

"Well...he had these lines running across his body...red lines. He...the heartless didn't attack him, he looked like he was ordering them to do things." she looks like she doesn't wana continue talking about this...not even a little bit. "He was...bad, he was just...so cold and mean and bad."

There is a crunching noise, and Liz's eyes fall back to Stitch, who...is weilding a. She points the bunny back at him again. Nervously.
Ingrid Third has posed:
A man responsible for ordering the Heartless around. This could be big news. Or it could be something everyone already knows about. Ingrid was still pretty new to the whole overwhelming forces of Darkness thing. Still she takes mental note of everything that gets said, as always.

"Red lines on his body... like tattoos?" Even as she asks the question, Ingrid picks up on the look Liz is giving her and shakes her head. "Nevermind. Sorry for being so nosy, you don't have to answer...?!"

Crashing, hammering, otherwise ominous noises. Ingrid winces at the implications even before turning around to see the rather deadly if ramshackle weapon that Stitch has assembled. If the look on her face is any indication, she is not particularly amused. The law upholding side of her is facepalming at the wanton destruction of property but the fact that there probably isn't much she can do about it just makes her sigh.

"Yes, I can see that." Ingrid pulls the other girl aside and whispers to her, "Look, Liz, I need to get this thing out of town before it wrecks anything else. I think you should go back to the TDA and stay with them until they find someone to watch over you, alright?"
Stitch has posed:
Stitch keeps the axe hoisted up on his shoulder... which looks dangerously adorable because it is bigger than him. But still, he's listening and ready to get on the move in the next few moments. "Stitch kill Heartless. Save Lilo. Help you next." Stitch tells this to Liz as if h's preparing to go off on a journey of self-discovery or something. It's more like he's about to destroy everything in his path!

And yes, that is why Stitch is turning and starting to run off in a random direction! He has no idea if there are Heartless in that direction, but he's hoping that Safety Patrol person comes with him! She's the one with the plan! He's the one with the axe-cution!

"Goobaja!"
CAPGRAS has posed:
Liz stares at the Alien again...

But luckily Ingrid is smart and pulls her asside and speaks to her softly, which does wonders.

"R-right...I'll...go back I guess." she nods a bit slowly, "T-thanks..." she says and with a nervous look back to Stitch, she skitters back towards the TDA...

You think.
Ingrid Third has posed:
Ingrid nods at Liz and gives her a final quick smile, sending her on her way with a soft pat on the back. She watches the girl wander off for a few moments before turning and glaring after the mutant alien fuzzy dropbear thing. "Hey, get back here!"

She starts to give chase then remembers her backpack, taking a few moments to heft the bulky container onto her shoulders, then turns and rushes off down the street after him.
