Cast of Characters: | Gabranth |
One of the Judge Magisters of Archades walks down the hallway of the Imperial Building. The stone mixed with beautiful decor of metal lines the wall. Drapery of many kinds also flow down near the open windows that show the beautiful city of Archades out in the city with its pristine look and almost futuristic appeal to many kingdoms in the land.
As the Judge Magister approaches the doors he can hear the voices of the Senators arguing with their Emperor regarding something-or-the other. The words matter little. He has been summoned and that is why he is here. As he comes closer to the door, the imperial guards there salute the Judge Magister before speaking quickly. "Your Honor." Then they open the door.
Once the massive metal door is open and the Judge Magister with his black metal armor and silvery, gold rune lines enters the room, the Senators grow quickly quiet. A few them raising brows, others seething at the sight of Gabranth.
The Judge Magister comes to a halt before stepping foot on the carpeted walkway leading to the table and to the very throne his Emperor sits on. The Judge of Ambition then drops down to one knee , with his arm resting to his knee, the other hand sweeping back slightly as his head bows low as the armor may allow it. "Your Majesty. You summoned me?"
The Emperor was an elderly man, who's face was showing not only his age but that times have not always been kind to him. He stares at Gabranth for a moment before he speaks calmly and precise. "Rise Gabranth. The senators and I were speaking on a mission we will be sending you and a few selective few to handle."
A few Senators raise their brows, others give a nod, then the remaining still giving Gabranth a glare, before an almost equal quick glare to their Emperor. Then one of them speaks. "Shouldn't Gabranth be keeping an eye on your son, Lord Vayne? Protecting him?! Instead of running such.." The senator calms his voice as he can feel the Judge Magester's eyes piercing into the back of his skull. "..such delegations? You could send Judge Magister Ghis, or even Bergan.. Your lord."
The Emperor remains quiet, staring down at the senator who speaks up so offensively toward the options at hand. "We have already been over these options, unless I /must/ remind you why once more for the /third/ time this morning why this operation is important."
The Senator tsks softly, clasping his hands tightly on the table, before they slowly relax. "Of-coarse.. your majesty.. My humble mistake to question your.. wisdom."
Gabranth raised a brow under his helm, before his eyes turned to look once more, already standing as the tit-for-tat was talking place. He then gave a minor nod to his Magesty, waiting for his orders in silence.
"Gabranth, though Fluorgis is not under our care, what Zargabaath and you have reported in these clan Judges has my great interest for some form of unity. As Fluorgis is part of their protection, but they do not have the possible resources in order to protect themselves from the increasing number of monster aggressions and most currently the news on troubling with the odd drought situation. I wish for you and Zargabaath both to aid in their blight. Bring them water, supplies, whatever Fluorgis and the Judges there may require in order to attempt to keep some stability; at least aid for the people."
"Yes your Majesty." Gabranth says with a minor nod. Remaining still and waiting for either further orders or to be cleared to leave.
The Emperor then glances over the Senate sitting at the table, as if examining their facial expressions. It was not always common for Archadian people to lend out such a hand in a peaceful manner, but times were changing and sometimes military might did not always answer all problems. "If Fluorgis is effected by this plight, soon Rabanastre could fall under the same conditions. We do not have a good hold there yet, Gabranth and though I.. Trust.. my son's choices, as the emperor," He eyes stare directly at a few Senators at this point. "I have as much say, if not more still then my son." He then looks back to Gabranth. "Don't you agree, Judge Magister?"
Gabranth mentally knee jerked. He hated these talks at times. At least when it was keeping the Senate in line. "Yes your majesty. Your will shall be done over all things." He bows his head lowly.
"Though do remember this, Gabranth." The Emperor then states with some raise in his voice. Drawing this as the heavier part of this conversation. "We are guests in Fluorgis. I will not create the feeling of oppression or war upon their nation. If they do not wish for our aid, then have it be so, but keep the branch extended encase they decide to take up our offer still." The Emperor then calms his voice back down to a soothing level. "Because of this, is why I do not send Ghis nor Bergan, as they have other things they must handle such as the safety of our cities under our care."
Then one of the Senators pipes up, though carefully compared to the other. "My lord, what about Judge Magister Drace?"
The Emperor glances over to the Senator, "She is with my youngest son still, though I could call her in to aid in matters, I best for now believe it is better she remain there at his side. There is no need for her aid as of yet." He then leans back in his throne. "After all, one must not place all their forces in one area." His eyes slowly scan across all the Senators before him. Waiting for one of them to argue with him. To protest that he would once more show one son favoritism over the other or he leave one aided while the other was left open for attack. Yet they did not come. He gave a small nod before looking to Gabranth. "Do you have any questions, Gabranth regarding these orders?"
"No your majesty. I do not." He says once more bowing his head again.
"Very well, you are dismissed Gabranth."
"Yes, your majesty." The Judge Magister then gave a proper bow at the waste before he turned on heel and started to head for the doors.
"Oh, and Gabranth--"
The Judge Magister quickly paused in his tracks, turning to face his Majesty once more. "Yes your Majesty?"
"Regarding the youth you have spoken about. I would like to see him.. personally. In my office. I have a trial that will answer all the questions and demonstrate to me why you have such great interest in him."
Gabranth frowned softly behind the helm. That was not something he was expecting to hear. Typically such tasks were handled by the Judges or even some of the lower officers in the Imperial Archadian military. "As you command, you majesty."
"Thank you Gabranth." The Emperor says before he turns to the Senate. "Now then, shall we move to the next subject, or shall we go about this topic a /fourth/ time this morning?"
The Judge Magister then heads out of the room, hearing the doors shut behind him as he continues to move down the hall. He was unsure of how they would aid Fluorgis in these troubling times. Though the Emperor was correct, such a problem could soon head for Rabanastre and then a new form of trouble could be looming over their heads.
He was also not sure how his Emperor was planning to make allies with the Clan of Judges. They were a neutral group that took no sides. He surely saw that in the report. Perhaps he had something else in mind? Either way, it was not his place to question the wisdom of their Emperor.
