It had been a long day, but that was to be expected when you take a day off and don't answer any calls coming over the link pearl. The memories that Riku shared however still roams through Gabranth's mind. Those memories shared still playing out in his mind. The dark voices, the oath, the young girl.. that young girl...

The Judge Magister reached up and undid his cape, gently laying it across the leather sofa in the corner of his office, before he lifted up to remove his helm, resting that on the manikin. It had been a long day of political conversations, concerns, and tactical information. Soon a large assignment would be afoot and he was expected to head to Fluorgis in order to look over some of those signing up.

As he walked over to the double doors, he opened it up into the bathroom there with its marble floor extending into this place as well. Beautiful marble sinks, a simple walk in shower, and highly polished metal. A mirror rested over the sink he stood up too. Gloved hands he turned on the water, before moving to place those black leather gloves under the water. The leather acting as a repellent to the water as he scoops it up and goes to wash his face off. However he pauses in this, staring at the rushing water dancing in the pool gathering in his hand.

His blue eyes staring into it, before he releases the water back into the sink and then slowly looks up at his own reflection in the mirror. His blue eyes staring deep into his own reflecting. All the words spoken, his mind thinks as he stares at his own reflection. All those words spoken, all of pain. The girl, the girl laying in darkness. The shadow lords.. the armored figure.. words.. words started this all..

Gabranth stares at himself a bit longer before his eye brows twitch faintly. His eyes slowly gaining an amber color as his mind starts to sink on the thought of words. Words. Then to deception. Lies. Pain. Blood. Greed. Hatred. His hand slowly reaches up to his own face, as he stares at his own reflection. A promise. A promise made.. can be... "RRAH!" Gabranth suddenly roars out interrupting his own mind as he slams his fist right into the mirror.

The glass shatters like sprinkles of star dust, shimmering around him as it explodes out from the impact. Each one fracturing a image of the Judge Magister in his rage and slowly falling into deep anger. Into regret. Into his pain. Into his mistakes. Into his wrongs.

The glass shards scatters across the ground a few flicks of blood run down his face from where the shards skimmed by his own face.

He brought this world into darkness. His own home world. He stood by as Vayne made the deal. He stood by as this world joined with a far larger one. He never stopped it. He just stood by like a good dog. He didn't stop his brother from leaving. He didn't stop his mother from dieing. He couldn't stop anything. A dog. A mutt. Loyal. Loyal and blind. Tied. Tied to the very chains he created.

You made a promise.

You gave him the pendant.

You /made/ him a promise.

The Judge Magister slowly drags his feet out from the bathroom, before he stares over at the desk. Those amber eyes slowly starting to glow into gold as he walks over to it. He looks down at the papers on the desk now before him. At the ink well then to the pin.

Laws don't allow promises.

Laws don't allow personal promises.

The Judge Magister's hands then tighten up, as his eyes burn bright gold. His jaw clenches tightly as his brows furrow. His eyes becoming dangerous slits.

The law gives you power.

The law grants you rights.

The law can take it away.

The law can make you break that...

Gabranth snarls before lashing out again in his rage. Taking the edge of the fine wood desk with black marble top and gold trim in his hands. Then with a roar of madness he flips the desk over. The papers scatter into the air. The ink well crashes onto the marble floor below, and the drawers fly open on the impact. More papers scatter out. Notes of many types. Maps of different locations. Knives clatter to the ground, including even what looks to be an old hand gun.

You can't do this.

You can't be a hero.

You can't /save/ him.

To much blood. To much...

The Judge Magister then slowly starts to turn away from the mess he has made. His eyes burning and tears starting to try to come. Yet before he can walk over to do more damage, a few clicks of a notes cause him to stop. The notes of a beautiful, slow melody.

Slowly Gabranth looks over his shoulder at the sound, before he starts to walk over. Then lands down on his knees. His face going from rage to sorrow in that very instant of the notes as they became dead silent once more. His eyes going from the raging gold, to the soft blue.

He slowly moves some papers aside, before picking up the old music box. His eyes fixated on it. Sorrow grasping him deeper as he stares at it. "..I have.. failed you.." Gabranth whispers softly to himself as he goes to rest his forehead against the music box. "..I have become.. what destroyed us.."

The Judge of Ambition grits his teeth as he tries to hold back the tears. "..no death.. no blood... can solve this now... I will break his trust.. I will break that promise..." He then almost hunches over the music box. "..because I can't break the law.. I.. can't.."

Gabranth then slowly lowers his hands, resting the music box on the ground once more. A single tear mixing with the blood on his cut face runs down his face, before the droplet hangs on his chin for the moment. Soon the drip slides off as he closes his eyes. It falling down to the paper below. The water mixed with blood saturating the paper under him next to the music box, before he speaks once more. "..I.." His voice trails off before he opens his eyes once more. His gaze looks around the silent room. So alone here. No laughs. No yells. His eyes stare off to the distance of the room, before his eyes move back to the music box. "..I.. wont fail him.. even if it means.." His words don't finish, as he goes to stand up once more. ".. I wont.. let him become another... my promise will be kept.." He then looks to the cape laying across the couch. Staring at the red mark of Archades upon the black leather material.

His eyes harden as he stares at it. "..I wont break my promise.." Before he closes his eyes and inhales deeply. Before he walks over around to desk to collect the papers once more. "..and he will come to learn in due time.. and when he comes to learn.. I will face him then..just as I stood his pain.. I can only hope he will stand before mine.. ..but I will not break my promise.."

Slowly the Judge Magister starts to clean up the mess he created. Placing the desk back in order once more and removing the rest of his armor, before slipping into more civilian cloths. His eyes slowly scan over the room once more, before his eyes come to focus on the armor as words echo in his mind...

'We will always be together!'
'Mmhm! We were born together!'
'And we stick together!'
'Through the worse of times'
'Through the best of times'
'fon Ronsenburg Twins stand strong!'
'And promise to have one another's backs?'
'You know it Noah. We will always have one another's backs.'

Gabranth then lowers his head in silence before he steps out of the room. The door shutting behind him and automatically the rooms lights start to dim as night passes over, with only the light remaining on the desk over the old music box.
