ENEMY DOSSIER - Barbariccia

Notoriety: Fiend of Air
Codename: 'The Fat Lady'
Abilities: Wind Control, Teleportation, Possible influence over Heartless
Base of Operations: Unknown
Threat Class: S

Barbariccia, or 'The Fat Lady' as she is known in the Situation Room, has been plaguing us for quite some time with her repeated attacks on Garden, each more potent than the last. Her objective remains unclear other than the simple act of wanton destruction-the fact that she often seems to act bored and attempts to (poorly) taunt others in battle seems to support this theory. Her relation to the Heartless remains unknown, but the creatures at least seem averse to attacking her (Strangely the reverse is not true) and act in tandem in a way that suggests she is able to exert some level of control towards them. As all of our existing data on Heartless suggests they are creatures of instinct they may just have a natural propensity to follow the strongest in their midst.

Having engaged with her on many separate occasions I can confirm that her title as the Fiend of Air is well-earned regardless of what else I might say about her. Her command over her element is near total in scope, and if truly roused I suspect the decimation she is capable of might well carry a significant structural security risk to the Garden. This does, however, seem to come with a price: She is extremely vulnerable when grounded, as if the land itself seems to siphon or limit her power in some way. Needless to say, she's very committed to remaining airborne at all times. Still, even half-hearted she's a considerable force to be reckoned with and I must recommend that SeeD Ranked 15 and below refrain from engaging her if the situation allows.

Her haughty, self-assured personality is a weakness that can be exploited, but to great risk. Anything that shatters Barbariccia's sense of superiority is sure to rouse her wrath, and considering what I stated earlier regarding the extent of her destructive ability I would recommend against inciting her in the vicinity of Balamb. The better strategy is to engage and keep her distracted from causing damage until she inevitably loses interest and retreats. Our teams continue to work on solutions in aggressively discouraging future attacks by both her and the Heartless.

More unsettling is the fact that she is likely not alone. A Fiend of Air suggests similar entities representing other elements as well, and her occasional reference-if not reverence-towards a figure known as 'Golbez' suggests she is not the lone actor she might seem. Regrettably, our focus on homestead defense at this time severely hinders our ability to gather more information about who she reports to and where she comes from. It is for this reason that I must again stress moving forward with the SeeD Expeditionary Corps. It is essential that we gain knowledge about the other worlds and what is in them, who our friends and enemies are, if we plan to ensure the continued survival of Garden as an institution in this new reality.

Faraven out.
