Goug - Shinra Headquarters: Lab 0012 - 00:45 AM

It was the dead of night in the city of Goug. The residents retreated to their homes after a long day of hard work. Within this city, at Shinra HQ and in a certain laboratory, it would seem that at least one person was not in dreamland. The usually well lit laboratory currently had it's lights dimmed. From what one could see through the subdued illuminations, they'd find that the place had been organized fairly recently, old experiments and works in progress had been stacked off to the side neatly for later examination and continuation.

There seemed to be a new fixture within the lab however. A stasis pod, and a large one at that. Within this stasis pod, a single small orb of pure black material floated, suspended within. Standing before this fixture, in front of a console that seemed to be alight with various readings, was the current owner and near permanent occupant of this lab; Rhiannon Estellise Zellen. Or as most of the soldiers within HQ called her; the Wutai Witch. Sure, she was working for Shinra, and she was technically on their side, but no one truly trusted this woman. She was from the enemy country. And rumors among the soldiers state that someone had seen her get torn apart right before their eyes, yet the moment they turned away, she was just fine. Nearly everything about this individual was just plain wrong or otherwise suspicious.

And who knows just what goes on in this lab? Indeed, Rhiannon, or Rhia as it is easier to say, does have her orders to perform experiments and research for the sake of Shinra's goals, but more often than not, it seems as if the woman is up to other things. And yet, no one is brave enough to step into this abyss and find out just what that may be. It is on this night however that it can clearly be inferred that this setup has nothing to do with Shinra's goals, but rather, her own. Typing into the keyboard for a spell, she soon began to speak to herself.

"Yes, these readings are just perfect." She mused gleefully, a smile curling up on her face. "I must say, this sample is quite something...And yet..." And yet she did not have everything needed to go forward just yet. Something was missing. A stabilizer. ...No, not a stabilizer, a catalyst. "I require just one last piece to complete this setup." That said, Rhia minimized the readings from the stasis tube and opened up another window on the console's screen, reading through various information profiles on certain individuals.

"And I do believe I know just who to seek out for this final piece to the puzzle." The selection highlighted a certain profile, singling it out from the others. At the top of it, a single line can be read.

'Subject #0004 - Known Name: Leida - Status: Perfect Match'

Smirking at the information presented, Rhia closed the window and brought up the stasis pod readings again, straightening up to stare up at the black material sample floating within.

"Soon."

A pause as the scientist closed her eyes then.

"I will obtain the knowledge I seek."

The material within the pod pulses slightly, that which does not go unnoticed by Rhia, who opened her eyes and smiled at the reaction.

Unbeknownst to all, dark clouds were beginning to hang over Goug...
