Khamja is a group from a different 'Ivalice', the same land where Rabanastre comes from. In a land where Guilds are quantiful, and politics are hard - a group like this is oft used by those who desire to take over. Behind the scenes, this group has a second objective though. Illua seeks to use her Grimoire of the Rift to gain ultimate power. However, with Luso having come into the picture - carrying a similar item, she's come to speed up these plans. Reason? Jealousy? Using her Grimoire of the Rift, she summoned dark forces - and the Heartless came with this! She refuses to admit that it was her who caused this however - and uses the Grimoire to rule over the Heartless that pour out from the dark gates. This caused the fall of their Ivalice, along with the ones coming from Archades. Khamja has only grown in power since the coming to this world of ruin, and continues to use the Heartless in larger quantity to reinforce their deeds.
