Sleep...
Reize had drifted to sleep after ordeal of going through the underground desert. He gotten his precious pendant back. It would be a peaceful night. Or so he thought.
As the boy clutched onto the sacred glowing jewel, the depths of the jewel that was once filled with benign energy overflowed with a shadow. The creeping darkness seeped out of the jewel, wrapping arund Reize.
~ The ones that you trust the most will be the ones that will be your downfall... ~
"Ooiii! Lenn!" Reize started to run over towards Lenn, who seemed to have her back turned. But, as the boy approched her, she turned around to whip her staff against his gut, knocking him on his feet. "Guh!"
"...A boy such as yourself, do you really hope that you can restore my world...? Do you even know how I feel losing my home?! ...Your blind faith will get us killed."
Reize winced, trying to get up to his feet. He was helped up in the form of hair grabbing by an older teenager. It was Riku, who was wrapped in the dark outfit with that cursed looking sword.
"What's the matter, hero?!" The teenager tossed the boy up, the off-balance step gave Riku the leverage to punch Reize across the face. "Do you not understand the power of the darkness?" That sword faced Reize as the black flames wreathed into his hand.
"Riku... wh--why?" Reize winced, trying to stagger to his feet. He is lifted off of his feet as a purple glow enveloped his body. He turned around to see it was Shiki, who held Mr. Mew in front of her.
"Shiki!"
The psychokinetic shove sent Reize towards Riku once more, who jammed his fist against Reize's stomach. "Nggghk.." He coughed as his breath left him.
"Your idealisms will get your friends killed. They have already started tp see that. Many of the Shard Seekers had already left." Riku pointed behind Reize, who turned around to see many of the Shard Seekers walk. Lenn, Shiki, Skoll, and Faruja.
Lily stood before Reize with a smile, before she lifted Reize off with the rumbling earth. He fell back towards Riku, who yanked the boy to his face.
"Pathetic. Your friends turned their backs on you. You've been betrayed... In fact, everyone has betrayed you." He chucked Reize across the ground.
After his rough landing, Reize crawled away as fast as he could from Riku. "Ngghh..." When he looked up before him, he saw Ivo. Ivo smiled before Reize, offering his hand for the boy.
Taking his hand, the boy was pulled to his feet. "Ivo! Th-there you are, I need your ---" The boy felt a sharp pain twisting against him, "H---help..?"
"...You did not antipate this, did you Reize?" Ivo could offer Reize a sad smile. "I'm sorry, but you are no longer useful, chief." He shook his head, before he shoved Reize off of his blade.
And the boy fell. It felt like a cliff that he fell off of. The descent felt so far.
His eyes lifted up, he reached out...
Father...
The long black-haired man in light clothing, shaking his head before turning his back on the boy.
Mother?
A figure in the shadows. A face he had never seen. An image he never knew about only disappeared from him.
~ "They have left you boy... All of them had turned their backs on you. You may think to yourself that this is just a nightmare. You may think that once you wake up, it will be alright. No. This is not a nightmare. This is your future vision. Everything that you hold will----" ~
That voice started to become drowned out as the boy's eyes fell shut. What was once pain had became ebbed as a mending feeling.
"Sleep..." It felt like a hymn in his mind, helping him ease to sleep.

Reize had been twitching and turning in his sleep. It was only until after moments that he glow faded. It no longer haunted him and the boy was able to sleep clearly.
Beside him on his bed is a young girl with blue gem on her forehead and a blue bow on each hair. She is dressed in a white nightgown. The young girl curled up against Reize, her hands held the green gem of Reize's pendant, removed from the boy's neck, while the gem on her forehead gave a bright glow. The girl hummed out a song as she rested close to the adventurer.
She whispered out to the boy as she curled closer to him.
"I'm here for you... The nightmares and lies won't bother you anymore."
And she drifted asleep as his little guardian, allowing him to have a peaceful sleep. As Reize's hand fell on her shoulder, she leaned onto it, finally happy that she helped the boy who helped her.
