Looking over the Hudson, Will places his hands into his pockets and lets the cool wind blow over him. Will tends to let things roll off of him, tends to not let words bother him...but the words from someone close to him tends to resound the loudest...and these ones did. Looking down into the water, those words rang in his ears again...

“Go jump back into the ocean, then maybe the only things you will hurt are the fish..”

Will continued to stare at the water for a long time, thinking back to the incident that even caused this...the bird bit his hand, which was fairly ordinary, after all he was a hobo competing with food was sometimes a thing that happened. The bird...from what he could guess was a...what did they call it? Familiar...the word seemed right, Familiar. Drew blood and then...an explosion of energy, magical energy..

Will didn’t know what happened, just that it felt like something was trying to take his arm off...

Then Riku got mad at him, told him to go jump into the ocean or else he’d hurt someone else. Will had left after that, upset about what happened, and about what was said. The images of what he did to the heartless came back into his mind, the thing unraveling around his fist as he punched through it.

Looking at himself...he generally tried to be cheerful around others, didn’t let the things bother him...tried not to let the disturbing things he constantly saw stain him. But they did...he honestly wondered why he tried to fool himself into thinking they didn’t, but they did...

Will, slowly, sat on the damp earth, placing his head onto his arms...not looking at the water anymore. He was sure Riku thought he just didn’t give a shit...well what did he know? He was sucking down all the darkness he could, for what? Saving his friends? What good would it do him if he was nothing but a soulless husk by the time he found them! Will sighed...

He saw people get themselves killed for less...he knew many people...grown close to many of them. Most of them however, were dead. The lucky ones had happy lives...and died of old age...others did not. Being killed for one reason or another...never quite making it to the end of their stories.

He wondered if Riku could understand what it meant to be as old as he was? Never changing...always static. However, the world rushed around him. People changed, like the seasons, they grew old...they died, and he was off to find more people. How many generations had he been through? This was only what he remembered too...he was pretty sure he was far older.

Will sighed, it was long and drawn out. Despite the sadness he felt at the memories long gone...he knew that they were also his strength. They died, but as long as he remembered them...they would never stop existing. But...it still didn’t mean he was any less lonely. No matter who he met, and the feeling he had lost something long ago that was more important to him than everything.

A tear ran down his cheek, causing him to bury his head. Of course he had to start thinking like this again. Stupid bird...
