Pizza With A Side Of Reaper
Date of Scene: 25 October 2012
Location: Manhattan
Synopsis: After a destructive clash in Manhattan, Mercade, Deidra, Maira, and Ward Zabac go to get some pizza and recover from a place they like. On the way, they encounter the Reaper Uzuki Yashiro. Can the offer of pizza get her to relax?
Cast of Characters: Deidra, Mercade Alexander, Ward Zabac, Maira, Uzuki Yashiro

Mercade Alexander has posed:
It's a pleasant enough evening in Manhattan, in the aftermath of a chaotic Xarbucks robbery and subsequent destruction by Baronian forces as well as the EVIL CRIMINAL MASTERMIND Darkwing Duck.

Part of recovering and relaxing after something like this creates a lot of hunger. And Mercade's best way to solve that is some delicious New York Pizza.

This is why the group is out on the streets of Manhattan, enjoying the night while heading for a local place Mercade favors because it's fast, cheap, and accepts takeout orders. Manhattan, being the City that Never Sleeps, is alive with people even with the threat of the Heartless, and the upcoming unknown threat of a possible Baronian invasion. They're making the best of things as much as they can.
Maira has posed:
Maira has decided to tag along with Mercade and his crew because hey, Mercade is good people. Plus, Sarafina said she should stay close to him. She didn't exactly say how long though. Maira figures she can at least stick around long enough for pizza. Everyone loves pizza! Avira is probably off doing something important anyway...hmm, she really needs to meet up with the VALKRI crew again soon. Wasn't thee some kind of radio network? Hmm...

Anyway, Maira walks beside Mercade with her hands in her pockets, admiring the huge city and all the blinking lights around her. Ah...that unseen sky...feels like home! "So! Mercade, have you lived here long? Family around? It sure it...bright."
Deidra has posed:
Deidra can get out and about in Manhattan she has ways, but still it would get her looks. Namely a hoodeed cloak that went down to teh geround. She looked strang but it didn't scream monster. So she moves along still a bit nervous about doing this. However she looks over to Maira for a moment she silts her head and she's so chipper she can't help but seem to be interested. "Seems I missed the trouble with Dark Wing again....
Ward Zabac has posed:
Ward followed Mercade and Maira, feeling naked without his harpoon on his shoulder, but it being necessary in this world. He walked behind the two keeping pace easily. It was a nice night and was nice to get out of the destruction without a scratch at least. Ward had wondered who the duck was and who exactly were the other crazy people. As they, walked His stomach grumpled, he was hungry and wanted pizza just as much as everyone else.
Uzuki Yashiro has posed:
Manhattan is certainly a city that is a alive. It lives and breathes through the people who inhabit it and those very people have grown even more varied and colorful since the many different worlds have fused together through the use of portals.

And yet, the city can still feel empty to some. To Uzuki, Manhattan is just an imitation of Shibuya. The two places may be similar in a lot of ways, but they were both very different. Uzuki's world used to begin and end with Shibuya, but that is no longer the case after Shibuya's destruction.

And yet, something about Manhattan has drawn Uzuki Yashiro here again, but not in typical fashion. The Reaper is actually on a mini-vacation. It was not her idea of course, but she was still ordered to take one regardlessly. The Reaper officers noticed how Uzuki was not taking a break at all which is not really how the Reaper's game is supposed to work. But without Koki or Shibuya, this Reapette has lost all interest in taking a break voluntarily. Why would she when she had sooooo much fun doing her 'job'?

Despite her protests, here was Uzuki. She's out on the streets of Manhattan in her normal attire, but her Reaper wings are nowhere to be seen. Strangely enough, the Reapette looks decidedly out of place due to her 'unique' fashion sense. This was just one more reason why Yashiro missed Shibuya and its very different fashion sense.
Mercade Alexander has posed:
"I've lived here all my life. Or rather, I lived in a suburb most of it, and moved into the city after I got through high school." He rubs his chin. "It's a hell of a place. Nothing like it anywhere else out there... But yeah. It's real bright out here. All kinds of things to see, places to go. This city never sleeps." He chuckles to Deidra as she comments. "It's all right. you didn't miss much. The bigger problem were the guys from Baron. It seems that I might have injured his pride a little bit and it might come back to haunt us."

As they walk, Mercade watches the area, turning a corner as they get closer to the pizza place. There is a flash of pink hair, black clothing, and a corset...

"Whoa, hold up." He pauses, holding up a hand as he looks over at Uzuki. "Sup Reapette." He grins. "How's things? You're not rocking the spike wings so... Taking a break, I guess?"
Maira has posed:
Maira listens, smiling softly as she nods along to show her understanding. "Hehe...sounds really exciting! I can't wait to explore more. I'll stick with you though, seems like I would get lost..." she says, looking around. "The City that Never Sleeps huh? Well, that's okay, I don't sleep much either!" she chirps, smiling brightly to Mercade and the others with them.

She stops when Mercade does, looking toward the woman he addresses and giving her a little wave. Reapette? What a strange name!
Ward Zabac has posed:
Ward nodded at Deidra about the comment with Darkwing. He accidently bumped into Maira and Mercade as they stopped. Steadying himself he looked down and saw another girl there. He guessed her name was Reapette. He nodded and in her direction and decided to look around and saw the lights and random signs. Seems like it was a mass place for media to sell things.
Deidra has posed:
Deidra says "It might we need to somehow tip off what's left of the navy and natiional guard units here along with the police really. Given Baron's what a militristic nation with access to magic?" She looks to Maira for a moment grinning more. "It's quite the place to live I have to admit.:" she pauyses at the strange lady with the special fashion sense. It wasn't really wrong it was just well almost a decade ahead of the curve here in Manhattan.
Uzuki Yashiro has posed:
Uzuki has been looking quizzically at one of the signs outside the pizza place with one hand on her hip and her other pressed against her temple in thought. Her English was pretty good for someone who had lived their whole life in Japan, but some of these topping choices were purely baffling. What did 'anchovies' even mean?

The Reapette's vocabulary centered problem is interrupted when she is addressed as Reapette. She turns towards whoever it was that addressed her with an obvious look of agitation on her face. It still really bothers her that so many people suddenly know about Reapers and the Reapers Game without -really- knowing what is going on. Maybe that explains the often disrespect that she is shown at times.

But look, it was the person who was the least annoying out of the bunch, Deidra aka the object of her popguins affections, that one girl from the Park, and then......whatever it is that the hulking Ward Zabac was suppposed to be. This group is almost as colorful as the last one that Uzuki had witnessed Mercade in. The hand that was against her temple drops slightly and she touches the edge of her lips which curve into a devilish smile. "I might be. That is, unless you want to play a game with me?"

The rest of the group that Mercade is with is given appraising looks. But darn. It appears that not one of them is a Player.
Mercade Alexander has posed:
"You're welcome to come looking around anytime you like, Maira. If you need help, we can give you a hand. Deidra, Will, and I know this place like the backs of our hands." Mercade smiles. He glances over to Deidra. "I think whatever's left has their hands full dealing with Heartless. Hell, I don't even /know/ how much is left." Mercade sighs.

Uzuki makes a sly comment, and Mercade arches an eyebrow. "The only game I'm interested in right now, miss, is getting some food. Care to join us?" Mercade gestures to the pizza place. "Let's sit down and have a chat. I'll buy."
Maira has posed:
This Reapette is kind of grumpy, huh? Maira does not recognize her from that day in the park. She was too busy fighting...what was it, a bear? Giant bear is pretty distracting!

At the offer to visit whenever she likes, Maira grins broadly, flushing slightly. "Really? Thanks!" she replies, now with more of a spring in her step.

She sobers some, at the mention of Heartless. "They're everywhere, huh? Well, if you need any help dealing with them...call on VALKRI. We do that sort of thing. Exciting, huh?"

Maira looks to Ward and Deidra then. "What do you guys like on your pizza?"
Ward Zabac has posed:
Ward looked down at Maira and shrugged he looked at the topping and pointed at bacon, chicken, and jalepenos with a white sauce. He paid the person with a a few bucks he had gotten and got a cup. After filling it he found a nice open area for them to sit. Since him being the biggest and Deidra having wings, booths didn't look like a good idea. He sat and enjoyed the weather. He was interested in what Maira and Deidra had been up to, and who this new person was. He asked them when they sat down, and what they thought about the heartless, and had they seen who is behind them.
Deidra has posed:
Deidra says "That's what lead me into meeting Mercade to be honest. I was looking into a strange creature and one thing led to another." She'll be happy with whatever pizza. Deidra has actually got her wings about herself and a cloak on to boot. Most of the residents of Manhattan tend to be very jumpy at non humans unlike say most of the other worlds. So she tries to not set off problems she's being risky as it is. Then again she's not alone and is with a group of people that could handle the worst of what the city would throw at them. "I'll take humm meat lovers I been picking at salds and such all day I want something a bit more meaty."
Uzuki Yashiro has posed:
"You don't want to play? I'm disappointed." Uzuki says with a mock-pout at Mercade's reluctance in wanting to play a game with her. It is not like she is a 1980's era supercomputer who nearly started a nuclear war. Her games are much less dangerous than that, but you really never know what you are capable of until you go for broke and put everything on the line....like your life for example.

The Reaper's attention focuses on Mercade when he begins to mention that there is a kind of game that he -is- interested in, but then her interest level plummets when the game ends up being....eating food. "That is waaaay too boring for me. Food is something you could get as a reward for playing." Koki and Uzuki bet all the time with buying each other ramen bowls. Erasing Players was hungry work afterall.
Mercade Alexander has posed:
"When did you become a mighty Nordic warrior woman, Maira?" Mercade laughs. "What's up with this Valkyrie thing?" He pauses. "Looks like everyone is ordering their own thing. I think I'm in the mood for some Hawaiian."

He puts in his order, and gets back to Uzuki. "Is that all you ever think about? Games? Surely you can sit back and relax for a bit. I'm interested in learning what the deal is with you and your Reaper thing. You seem to be a very... work-oriented individual."
Maira has posed:
Maira orders a pizza with cheese, anchovies and jelly beans. Of course, they don't have jelly beans and give her a super weird look when she asks. Alright, just the anchovies then. "Bummer..." she mumbles, then goes to take her seat.

At Mercade's question, she blushes again. "I am not a...mighty warrior woman! I'm just...me, and I want to help. I want to know what the Heartless are and what they want...and...maybe save some worlds," she admits, her blush deepening with her embarrassment.

She looks to Uzuki then. "Games? I like games! What kind of games? Like...hide and seek?" asks the seventeen year old....not the game most would think of first. Still a bit of a kid at heart!
Ward Zabac has posed:
Ward laughed at Maira and her spunkyness, and at Mercade talking to the other girl. He sipped his soda and looked around and waited for his pizza to get done. Ward was wondering about the game they were talking about. "Game?" he choked out as best he could. He wanted to know more about it since it was the only thing she seemed to think about.
Uzuki Yashiro has posed:
If fun is playing 'games' and work is fun for Uzuki, then z=zetta....and...Uzuki was never that good at math.

Mercade's inquisitive nature is becoming irritating to Uzuki, Her coy demeanor falters slightly before recovering only seconds. She is not going to willingly divulge any more information about the Reaper's Game. That would spoil the fun. Now speaking of fun and games, the Reapette flashes a grin once more. "You are interested in Reaper's are you? The best way to know about us is first hand experience. Somethings are better off doing than just talking about."

Oooh. This Maira girl's comment causes Uzuki to turn her attention towards her. "Exactly." Hide and Seek was actually Reaper Sport #2, but close enough. "If your friend doesn't want to play, you could always play instead." She offers before looking over at Ward too. "You are invited too. We could all play together!" The pink-haired reaper now smiles from ear to ear.
Mercade Alexander has posed:
Mercade chuckles to Maira. "I'd be glad to have any help. Working together is the only way we're going to get through any of this."

The Detective tilts his head at Uzuki. "Is that why you keep trying to kill us? I mean, I'm taking a kind of academic view on this one, but I kind of enjoy living."

He squints, then. "Man, you really like your games. All right, so how does one learn first-hand about the Reapers? Preferably without the dying part." He asides, then. "YOu also didn't mention what you want on your Pizza, miss." He then blinks. "Oh, right! I never did introduce myself. Here you are." He flicks a hand, producing a business card, which he offers to Uzuki. "Mercade Alexander. with the Twilight Detective Agancy."
Maira has posed:
Maira smiles brightly to Mercade. "Alright! I'll let the other know!" she says, not bothering to mask her excitement. Alright! Potential jobs! Even more exciting? Friendships.

Maira blinks then. "Wait, what about dying!? That is not the kind of game I want to play!" she protests.
Deidra has posed:
Deidra says "Don't feel like dying not at all." She peers at them woman for a moment as she tilts her head a little bit. "Really don't feel like dying had enough happen to me this year." She tilts her head for a moment pondering her next words
Ward Zabac has posed:
Ward didn't want to die either as he saw the pizza's coming he got up and helped the server dish them all out before sitting back down to listen about this /reaper's game/ or whatever it was. He didn't want to die to participate.
Uzuki Yashiro has posed:
Has Uzuki been trying to actively kill them? She did unleash a terrible grizzly noise against Maira and friends. And then there was that time where she summoned all those J-Popguins, but...actually....both of those times the Noise just sort of acted on their own. They are really mindless creatures more or less, but Uzuki didn't really sic them on anyone. They just sort of naturally attack anything in sight.

The Reapette frowns at Meracade. "I already told you. The only way to find out for yourself is to play my games. Or else, what is in it for me?" Pinky points out simply before considering this whole pizza thing. Her demeanor suddenly drops when Maira catches wise on what is going on and suddenly back pedlas on this whole Reaper's Game thing. And then it seems by Ward's silence and Deidra's animated response, that neither of them want to play either.

This causes Uzuki to get rather angry over how much time she just wasted here. "You living people are all the same. Always worrying about your pointless lives and perserving them as long as possible until you meet your inevitable end." Pinky clenches a fist tightly before letting it go. "You should really start enjoying your lives while they last. I'll be seeing you soon regardless," adds Yashiro in a cheerful tone as her black Reaper rings sprout from her back.

"As for me, vacation is over. It is time to go erase some Players." Uzuki then begins to float away, propelled by her unflapping wings with a somewhat maniacal grin on her face.
Mercade Alexander has posed:
Mercade blinks. "Whoa. She's... really focused. Not even pizza could get her to open up." He sighs, and picks up a slice of Hawaiian. "Well then. I guess she's not going to say anything right now. Let's take her advice though. I am totally all for enjoying life right now."

Mercade then holds up some soda. "Eat, drink and be merry..." He doesn't mention the rest of the famous quote.

'For tomorrow we die.'
Maira has posed:
Luckily, Maira is not aware of the end of that quote. When Uzuki goes off on them, Maira gawks. Us living people!? She is not living? Whaaaat?

Maira inches closer to Mercade as Uzuki spreads her wings and goes all...scary. "Well, yeah..." she comments, as if this really should be obvious.

When she's gone, Maira reaches for pizza and chows down with the same vigor as always. She's not one to waste food. Ever. "Yeah...enjoying. I enjoy it...most of the time! When I'm not being mauled by giant monsters anyway," she says with a frown. "Indeed! I have tried to live to the fullest every day! Lets...lets...I don't know, do something really fun next!" she cheers, raising her fist to the air.
Mercade Alexander has posed:
"There's all kinds of fun around here, Maira. Nightclubs, Broadway theatre, movies. You name it." Mercade replies. "Let's make your stay here in Manhattan a night to remember."
