"Urrrgggggggh!!"

"Avira?!"

The flimsy door to her tiny, almost closet-sized room was nearly torn free from its hinges as the moogle burst through. The concern in the clanmaster's eyes quickly turned into bafflement as he beheld the position that their newest member had arranged herself into. "What...what in Faram's name are you doing?"

Her sweat-covered face turned bright red as she dropped herself to her knees, then pulled herself into a sitting position, putting her at eye level with Mabo. "A push-up of course."

Once she saw the confusion on his face, Avira realized the misstep she had made. "-it's something the warriors in my village did to train and build their muscle strength." she was all too quick to fill in, quickly moving to stall as she held up her arm to flex biceps that were nonexistant. "Pretty grueling but also effective." He still looked concerned. "Dooooon't worry, I'm perfectly fine. Just trying to prepare. I'm taking that new bounty that went up on that vagrant. Ivo."

"Oh." Mabo emitted, looking only slightly less disturbed than he did seconds ago. "So you're starting to remember things. That's a good sign. Maybe you should practice those...outside the house?"

"Maybe you should knock first." Avira grumbled, bothered by the change in subject.

"What was that?"

"Err, I said maybe I should eat first. Exercise is hard to do on an empty stomach! Ah ha ha..."

The moogle gave her an arch look before turning away, allowing the door to swing in behind him. Avira let out a sigh of relief and fell backwards against the old mattress and pile of moth-eaten blankets that comprised her bed. Her aching arms fell splayed out to her sides limply. "Whew. I really need to be more careful."
