Sweet Delirium
Date of Scene: 26 November 2012
Location: Traverse Town
Synopsis: Merlins magical sugar bowl escapes the tower and starts to ferment a tea-set rebellion amongst the inanimate objects of Traverse Town after an ill advised political lecture with Archimedes leaves the magical object delusions of grandeur. Shopkeepers all over town find their stores in chaos and their inventory rising up against them.
Cast of Characters: Reize Seatlan, Lily, Auron, Deelel, Morrighan Alazne

Reize Seatlan has posed:
Once upon a time, in a forest far away, Merlin told the little pots and pans a story about Capitalism's rise and the fall of Communism. He even gave a spiel about why Communism fell flat in practice. Merlin fell asleep in the midst of his rant.

However, the story inspired a sugarbowl. That sugarbowl felt a destiny ahead of itself.

It would free its brethern.

In Traverse Town, a peaceful town...

Has gone mad.

Silverwares and inanimate objects have gone MAD! The chairs are taking over the place and the brooms are sweeping the people out.

The sugarbowl, holding a magic wand, is wearing a hat with a star on its head.

Meanwhile....

It is a chance for the Shard Seekers to return to Traverse Town. Admittedly, it had been a long while since they been about. Reize looks around the town. "Ahhhh! It feels nice to be back!" He beams, bringing both of his hands over his head.
Lily has posed:
Lily's skipping along just beside Reize... well, occasionally skipping. She's in her usual outfit of course - white robes with bright blue trim.

"This town again! I remember when you brought me here from the forest... and we met Faruja and... and... that bone man..."
Morrighan Alazne has posed:
"WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS STUPID TOWN!?"

Today was not a good day for a certain dark elf. Having been defeated in her own home in a rather embarrassing and brual way, she was not a happy camper Made even worse by the fact that the fools at the castle always seemed to botch up simple orders. "If you want to get something done right, you have to do it yourself! ...Most of the time anyhow." She mused, tapping her chin in thought as she walked through the streets.

Alas

She was utterly lost. So much for doing things right yourself.

And were there ALWAYS brooms walking about and kicking people out of buildings? "....What matter of nonsense have I walked in on now...?" An exasperated sigh escaped from Morrighan's lips as she pointed looked away from the spectacle, thinking that nothing was really wrong, considering how weird this place usually was.

"I should have stayed at the castle!"
Deelel has posed:
Deelel has only recenyly returned from being missing for two weeks. She's wback in action but very disturbed. She'd been working on a report about LEXUS and the threat he represents in terms her user friends could hopefully understand but right now that's all out of it. Random items are involved in an uprising this could be. Lily and Reize have the program right behind them her own clothing? Seems more like a high tech body suit with cargo pants really for lack of a better term and a disk on her back. "This is a major hub of travel between many of the worlds Lily."
Auron has posed:
Auron's here as well, just having returned from another odd job. Rescuing cats from trees... several cats. Who all went up at the same time, into different trees. And would not come down. One of the things Auron really hates? Having his feet off the ground. But it was unavoidable. At least the old lady was rich as well as more than a little off her rocker....

But then... there's the arrival of people. And also, the ruckus with brooms and cultery and household items and... okay that is definitely not normal. Rather than call out, though, Auron simple raises an eyebrow, and heads toward the ruckus....
Reize Seatlan has posed:
"Guh... Jack." Reize thinks back, recalling his encounter with Jack and the fright that he gave Lily. It was a very interesting day in Traverse Town at their first arrival.

 !!!

It looks like a commotion.

"Deelel, Lily, let's check it out!"

Reize leads the group into the deeper parts of the town.

It looks like a large uprising at various shops. The bakery is under attacked by the spoons, forks, and knives. Pans and other sorts. Item shops have gone awry as the inventry uprise. The potions are floating and various places have gone berserk.

At the center of it all is a sugarbowl, holding a rod. It holds its hand, rising the wand into the sky.

A table flips a man out of the house. Because in Soviet Russia, the table flips YOU!

*WILHELM SCREAM*

Meanwhile, Reize stares in shock. "Uhhh...."
Lily has posed:
"That bone man." Lily shivers. Thinking back, she can't really think of Jack as a bad person though. Frightful, but he just didn't have that feeling that got her riled about him.

But commotions, commotions. She hardly has a chance to open her mouth, hoping to make a comment to Deelel, before the commotion happens!

"Ah... ah not again--- What... what is this...?"

Lily's left flabbergasted, staring at the animate THINGS wandering about causing havoc with a stupefied look on her face for all to see.
Morrighan Alazne has posed:
"......?" Staring through the window of a bakery, she noticed that there was...a bowl? Yes, that's definitely a bowl. A sugarbowl. And it's wearing a wizard's hat and wielding a wand. "What manner of devilry is this?"

Now she couldn't help but stop and stare. Of course, she knew no better about what was normal or not, but even this was taking the cake for the strangest thing she had seen in quite a long while.

And it seemed like she was not the only one to notice this nonsense, as others were approaching. Some children and a woman with the strangest outfit she had seen in a long time. Oh and then there was that old man with the sunglasses.

Quite a motely crew gathering there. Not that she wanted anything to do with this.

"I hope the item shops are not being assailed with this foolishness now..." But deep in her mind, she figured that yes, they probably were.

Sigh.

That bowl needed to be apprehended before order would return to this town again, didn't it?
Deelel has posed:
Deelel nods once to Reize and moves to follow after the group she's kinda just staring at eveyrthing tha'ts going on. "How is this even possible. It's like the whole world is glitched." She just keeps back from the chaos however the sugarbowl does get her attention she stares as well. This is the strangest thing she's ever seen in user space. She gives Lily a look for a moment then back to the bowl.
Auron has posed:
Were he anyone but himself, Auron might have been visibly shocked at the just... out and out weirdness that was happening. But now? Just a raised brow. He will eventually find his way over to Reize and his party, and inquire, "...This is not something that's usual in Traverse, I take it." Hard to tell if he's asking a question or not.

He will indeed look to Morrighan as well, though as he's not met her either -- heck, he's only seen Reize and Deelel once before, and never seen the others -- he doesn't speak further just yet.
Reize Seatlan has posed:
"HELP! Save us! Please, don't break our stuff! Just return them back to normal!"

That's right, it is the mission to rescue the people from their inventory gone wrong! The ring leader of them all is standing at the very center, pointing its wand at a random shop.

Suddenly, the teashop are losing all of their teacups and teapots. They lead the rush with their sugars, firing at their owners.

The sugar bowl sees the others...

Caption: IT IS THE OPPRESSORS! STOP THEM!

The sugarbowl tosses ammunition towards the teacups. The teacups arm themselves with the spoons and begin firing at EVERYONE!
Deelel has posed:
Deelel stares fro a moment as all the items are attacking but if the items are aware right? She's not sure just what's going on untill all the things start getting fired at her. She shifts, weaving evading each strike her reflex honed through more fights in Sark's gaming pits than she cares to count but she's not attacking them.

"So ideas how to disable them?!"
Lily has posed:
Lily raises a hand rather clamly. The winds pick up around her, whipping around in a tight but fairly gentle whirlwind. The barrage is getting nowhere past that. The oomph is just blown off by the winds and the debris falls to Lily's sides.

"... There's some kind of power filling them! But... but they're ALIVE, aren't they?! ..." Lily sounds pretty confused at this.
Morrighan Alazne has posed:
With not-so-practised ease, Morrighan hide around a wall to avoid the barrage of shots fired off from the living yet inanimate objects. "Of all things, THIS is what I had to run into!? Why is something asinine always happening in this town!?" She groused, running a ahnd through her hair angrily before looking around the wall outside and back into the shop.

"...Hmph, well obviously the only thing that could cause something of this calibur would be either a very powerful animation spell, or an enchanted item, like a staff, wand, or maybe even a hat..." The healer spoke plainly, though irritated, uet she smiled darkly as she hinted as to what could be causing this.

"I sorely doubt that it is the former however. What sort of magician would waste their time animating these things?" A very powerful fool actually, Morrighan.

Not that she knew of course.
Auron has posed:
Suddenly FLYING CUBES OF SWEETNESS! At least it's only sugar cubes right now, or at least it seems to be. Auron will raise his sword to deflect the sickeningly sweet ammunition. In response to Deelel's comment, he notes, with some wryness, "...Water might help. The sugar would melt."

From his place, near-crouched behind the blade of his sword, he can just barely see it. And then to Morrighan's comment, "...The sugar bowl. It's the one that's commanding this." Pause. And then he mumbles under his breath, unheard, "...I cannot believe I had to say that...."
Reize Seatlan has posed:
Guess who gets the raw end of the deal? The Fearless Leader, that's who! Millions of the sugar cubes pelt against the boy repeatedly. It is like ALL of them that were meant for his friends are all hitting him, "Ow ow oegh agh ow ow ow ow owwhy?!" The boyturns away, flailing his arms as he makes a retreat to a wall.

The boy winces and he furrows his eyebrws. When he looks at Auron, he blinks, "That is?!" He glances towards the sugar cube.

"It is! It is the leader! Everyone, remember, we need to avoid breaking them. They still belong to the people!"

Speaking of which....

The candles, pots and pans has many of the shop owners and patrons tied up. They are kept hostage. The forks are pointing at the people threateningly to keep them from moving.

The sugar bowl turns to the heroes. It points their way.

Many of the appliances move and charge.

A table sneaks up on Auron. Sneak. Sneak. SNeak. Then, it prepares to flip him over. Hope Auron is able to detect it in time!

Knives fling off, firing straight towards Reize.

Teacups and teapots bring their ammunition, launching from a bowl to move over Lily and Morrighan's head. They are pouring down hot tea at them.
Lily has posed:
This time it's Lily, who's stopped momentarily, confused. What should she do against the animated things. But then... then there's more than sugarcubes to deal with. Now there's TEA. Hot, boiling tea. "aaaaahhh!"

TLily panics, ducking. What should she do? Counterattack, work magic?

She's momentarily not thinking straight. She CHARGES at Reize, arms outstretched and leaping for all she's worth to escape the onslaught.

Perhaps this is to try and get him out of the way. It's probably not going to work out that way at all though!
Morrighan Alazne has posed:
"WHOA-" It didn't takea genius to tell Morrighan that she would dodge. And for the second time in such a short frame of time, she manages to dodge out of harm's way, scrambling back away from the onslaught of...boiling tea. "You have GOT to be kidding me! Tea? TEA!?"

In all her anger and annoyance, Morrighan immediately begins to charge up a spell to fling at these annoying objects. "Don't destroy them? Hah! They are ASKING to be destroyed! And I will gladly do them the favor!"

Glaring amongst all the objects present, she tried to determine just which objects she should focus on utterly obliterating first...
Auron has posed:
Sneak. Sneak. Sneak.

Auron hears the piece of furniture. But he isn't able to turn fast enough to prevent it from successfully getting itself under his legs! However, instead of going ass over teakettle, like the table planned? Auron drops his sword flat to the ground, and reaches back over his head, grabbing hold of the tabletop's sides! Nope, he's not going over unless the table does, too!

In the next instant, Auron is trying to get his feet under him again, and trying to use his greater weight to... well, flip the table. This ought to put the table on its surface, and hopefully leave it much like a beetle on its back!
Deelel has posed:
Deelel is looking at poor Reize he's just getting it s so badly at this point. She looks at all the items attack but well? She can't be toches the basic is just dacning out of harms way as easily as she'd dodge an id disc. She is worried however for the others. "I suggest we figure out the source of this!" Morrighan is new to her, she's trying to draw fire now as she taunts them.

"Hey you over here! Your nothing but a glitched null unit! You can kiss my bitmap!"
Reize Seatlan has posed:
Knives. All of he knives in the world. They pin Reize against the nearest building. Thankfully, none of them leave him as a bloody mess. This is not a good day for him. Comical tears roll along his eyes. "HEY! LET ME GO!"

A bucket comes at the rooftop, the dumps water on Reize.

Reize is all wet.

"I am hung to dry."

As Lily runs towards him, Reize looks at the girl. "Lily!"

Meanwhile, the conductor of the battle watches the enemies flee. It raises its wand in the air, pointing it out towards the group. It directs its soldiers to fight! Fight! Fight!

The table is flipped over! Oh god! The table is flipped over! Seeing its comrade in trouble, a wheeled chair is rolling straight towards Auron in a mad dash. It attempts to scoop him up and seat him down.

As Morrighan works on trying to obliterate her enemies, the wizard sugar bowl wields its powerful magic and releases a mist to surround her.

Meanwhile, various forks are pointing towards Deelel. And they all fly towards her. A few pots and pans start moving to the roof top to fly at her head. Those pots and pans move towards Reize and Lily as well.
Lily has posed:
CLOOOOOONG!

How humiliating! Lily's clobbered with a pot to the head. It's thankfully not FULL of water or anything, but that's a lot of metal on her poor head. "O-ooowah..."

She doesn't even reach Reize. The clobber stops her right in her tracks. Tears well up in her swirling eyes, she starts tilting forwards...

THUMP. Faceplant.

*insert Mario Bros death music here*
Morrighan Alazne has posed:
Seeing the mist beginning to surround her, Morrighan smirked and swung her arm outwards, sending out a wave of magic that dispersed the offending mist as well as potentially destroying any poor objects that were in the immediate vicinity. "Nice try! But alas, you should try harder!"

Not in any mood to play games, the mage focused another spell and glared over at the sugarbowl, which seemed to be the ringleader. "I want to get what I need NOW, not LATER. So do me a favor and DIE!" And with that said, she thrust her hand forward, fireing a concentrated beam of holy magic at it.

Nope. She still didn't care that these belonged to someone.
Auron has posed:
Auron's concerned too much about the table, and then about retrieving his blade, to move in time. So the wheeled chair is able to take him off guard. Thus he... rather forcibly takes a seat! He grunts in surprise, though his hand tightens on the handle of his blade. Nope. Not dropping that!

Now, though... he has to figure out how to stop this wild ride, before he ends up in a furnace or something. He /could/ disperse briefly... but he's not quite ready to go /that/ far just yet....
Deelel has posed:
Deelel is concerned for her human friends this isn't looking too good. Her however? She's shifting, blurring as she evades each and eveyrthing thrown at her. She actually catches a few of them at this point. She looks over to Reize and now makes an effort to get to him. The poor boy needs a shield and there's nothing that can be done for Lily!
Reize Seatlan has posed:
Reize is managing to pull himself off out of the knives piercing him, he tosses them aside and he looks up at the pots coming at him! "Gack!" He quickly rolls away and he springs up, runningtowards Lily, who has a pot on her head. "LILY!" He frowns, trying to reach for her and pull the pot off of her head.

Sigh. He scoops her over to his arm and he looks at Lily, "We need to get cover," He calls out to Deelel.

Meanwhile...

The concentrated beam fires at the sugar bowl. It cracks against something but otherwise disperses.

FOOOL!

The Sugar Bowl waves its magic wand and directs it to Morrighan. Should the dusty beam strike her, she'll be levitated off of the ground and will be upside down.

The chair is taking Auron for a ride~ Unfortunately, that means a flying rolling pan is aiming to conk Auron in the head. Not just one, but ...UNLIMITED ROLLING PAN WORKS!

Meanwhile, Deelel and Reize are fired upon by sugar cubes from the teacups. All of the sugar cubes are being fired like machineguns.
Lily has posed:
Amidst all this chaos, Lily seems rather pinned to the ground. She's curling up and rubbing at the top of her head. Eventually she looks up at Reize, eyes teary and still swirling. She speaks in a warbly voice, a mixture of pain and sheer confusion evident in it.

"R-R-Ree-eize, m-make the world stop twirling a-and spinning...."
Reize Seatlan has posed:
Reize Seatlan says, "That's right. I am protecting my girl! >_<""
Morrighan Alazne has posed:
"Oh come on!" Morrighan complained, sidestepping the counterattack without even commenting on it. If the thing wouldn't be destroyed then there HAD to be another way to stop that irritant.

"Hmmmn..." And then, an idea. Sugarbowls did not normally wear wizard hats and wield magic staves. One of them had to be the key. ...But which? "Hmph! Then let's try again!"

Charging up another holy beam, she thrust her hand forward again and fired, aiming for the staff this time.
Auron has posed:
See, that's why Auron kept hold of his sword. Because when those rolling pins come at him, he raises the blade, knocking the rolling pins away. Even if the shock of impact against the blade hurts his arms, in the awkward position he's having to hold the sword in. And then? He turns the sword, to JAM it into the space between cobblestones. He's aiming to push himself up, out of the wheeled chair, and hopefully kick the bloody thing over.

Then he has a thought. Maybe he's going about this all the wrong way.

Regardless of whether or not he's managed to get out of the chair, he calls up to the sugar bowl, his voice hoarse when made loud enough to be heard over the din. "And if you do get free? Who will clean you? Who will repair you when you break? Ask yourselves honestly. What would you do if you weren't used for the purposes that you were designed for? Even people are happiest when they're useful. Can you honestly say you'd be happy not being useful?"

Huge chance here... what if reasoning isn't possible? And also....

Why does he have to /reason/ with bloody /furniture/?!
Deelel has posed:
The program is just wondering. There's rollingpans everywhere but it's just sugar cubes she brings out her disc, powers it up and with a pop for every on she intecepts a cube is reduced to it's atoms and she's showing no sign of stopping. Magic isn't her thing so she's kinda acting like a missile interceptor for Reize and Lily when she can.
Reize Seatlan has posed:
"Lily!" The boy frowns, then he runs over towards her. As the pots and pans are flying towards him, the boy is charging into the fray! He starts kicking the sugar cubes and smacking them away. Even his antenna hair starts kicking them off.

With a whip of his head, his scarf smacks the sugar cubes away.

Reize picks up his girl, hefting her with both arms and he carries her off to safety! Sugar cubes raining down, they all miss like gunshots.

"Oiiii! Listen to the man! Everyone would miss you!" The boy frowns, "Do you not feel such? Would you really find yourselves happy alone...?"

All of the appliance remain still. Everyone of them just stare. The teapots and cups start to leave, followed by the chairs and the tables. They are all returning to their homes and shops.

The sugar bowl panics.

Caption: WAIT! COME BACK! I CAME TO FREE YOU ALL! PLEASE!

The staff is blasted out of the sugar bowl's hand. As its weapon is disarmed, all of the inanimate object lose their bewitchment and collapse on their own.

The sugar bowl lifts his hands up.

It has lost.
Morrighan Alazne has posed:
It's over. ...Finally it's over. The thing seems to have given up and all the other appliances and furiture seem to have lost their animation. "....So...ARE WE DONE HERE NOW?" She complained loudly, turning away from the sugarbowl and facing the others, who she didn't even know for that matter.

"Because I have business to attend to and this nonsense has nothing but hold me up!" ...Let's not mention the fact that she's still lost. But nevermind that!
Lily has posed:
Lily's groaning, but being carried is helping at least. She has someone to hold onto. Tight! ... possibly too tight!

"That hurt. It hurthurthurt... my head!" At this point, she doesn't seem to really care about what's going on since all the noise has died down. Lily glances about bewilderedly, rubbing her eyes with a sleeve...
Auron has posed:
...Well, at least if Auron was going to make a foray into the less-than-sane, it seems to have done the trick. So there's some comfort, anyway. At least the road to insanity is paved with good intentions, right? Meh, whatever. It's over, at least it looks like. So he sheathes the Katana. Its done its job.

Now in the aftermath, Auron's first order of business? Immobilizing that blasted sugar bowl. It will, hopefully, be turned towards either its departing army or the blast that took its staff from its hand. If a sugar bowl actually /has/ hands. So Auron will go from what he hopes is a direction that the sugar bowl isn't looking -- does a sugar bowl even HAVE eyes?! -- and try to sweep down and pick it up by a handle. Hand. Arm. Whatever.

And once the sugar bowl is immobilized fairly well -- whether by himself or someone else -- he will look to Reize. "...Is she all right?" This asked of Lily. A look to Deelel and Morrighan as well, to ensure they're both all right. He's got Potions! And as Morrighan seems ready to leave? "...Thank you," Auron offers. She helped them out a lot; knocking the staf from the sugar bowl's possession saved them all a world of pain.
Reize Seatlan has posed:
Auron now has the creature captive. Reize is moving towards Auron and the others and he kneels down to pick the staff up. Maybe they should carry it around.

Soon, Reize approaches closer to Auron with a od, then he turns to face the leaving Morrighan, "Ooooooiiii! Thanks for the help!" He brightens.

Soon, the adventurers would learn that the sugar bowl belonged to Merlin, who lives out in the forest. They would take the bowl over to the old wizard along with the staff. Merlin, although eccentric, was grateful and chastized the bowl while apologizing to the others.

And then asked them to leave.

Another adventure done!
