Date of Scene: 03 November 2012
Location: Rabanastre
Synopsis: A chance meeting in Rabanastre's Lowtown district brings unusual people together.
Cast of Characters: Mercade Alexander, Cirra Constantine, Kaydin

Cirra Constantine has posed:
Rabanastre! Even under the rule of Arcadia, it's a lively town, for being in the middle of a desert. But the patrolling Empire troops put a dampner on the mood sometimes, unless you dare go into the under city.

It's down there that Cirra Constantine is, not in her Judge armor, just the black leather armor and plate boots. She stops in front of one of the stalls down in th eunder city where the poor are forced to go. She looks hte vendor up and down with a frown.

"What is this...Hotdog? I've never heard of it, is it forgein?"
Mercade Alexander has posed:
"Oh, hell yeah hotdogs."

A man in a detective's overcoat steps up, handing over some Gil and getting one with everything.

Mercade takes a bite and thinks, an odd expression on his face as he chews. "Huh. Definately a unique taste. Not like the ones at home."

He keeps eating it, smiling over to the woman in black. "Hey miss. Never seen a hot dog before?"
Kaydin has posed:
"Isnt a hot dog a dog that is hot?" A voice calls as the dark knight approaches the metal armor clanking with each step, the chain on the pommel of his sword even clinking as he would approach the two now. "I never expected you to be here, Detective."
Kaydin says, helmet hiding his face as he approaches. While his armor is not like the judges, it is indeed intimidating.
Cirra Constantine has posed:
Cirra steps aside as Mercade just walks up and starts devouring a hotdog. She looks at his peculier (to her) manner of dress. She gives her head a shake, "No."

Looking at the stall again, "What /is/ it? It doesn't look like any animal meat I've seen before." She then looks up at Kaydin, nodding once.
Mercade Alexander has posed:
Om nom nom, om nom.

"It's... a sort of mix. Most hot dogs are a mix of beef, chiclen, and pork in a casing. It's not bad at all." OF course, given this is lowtown, there might be more creative meats involved as well. Mercade doesn't seem to notice or care. He grins, and looks over his shoulder. "Oh, sup Kaydin. Well, I do a lot of travelling. I figure I'll run into something important eventually."
Kaydin has posed:
"I see, it is a bunch of meat mixed into a casing." Kaydin says with a nod as he approaches. "Either that or something will run into you. Like maybe how that giant robot chicken?" Kaydin asks with a playful tone.
Cirra Constantine has posed:
"A mix?" Cirra looks back at the stand, well this other man seems to be enjoying it. She orders one, exactly as Mercade has his done. Then she looks at Kaydin, "A what?"

Recieving her hotdog, Cirra looks at from side to side as if unsure of how to...eat this thing. Eventually she just follows MErcade's example and taks a bite out of one end. Well, more like a nibble.

"Thats..." she psues adn takes another nibble, "Good..."
Mercade Alexander has posed:
Mercade Alexander frowns. "We don't talk about the giant robot chicken." He says to Kaydin.

The woman in black gets a glance from Mercade, who watches for several second, examining he intently. "You stand out around here." He mentions. "What brings you down here?"
Kaydin has posed:
"PRobably because you like me got ran over by it?" Kaydin says with a chuckl as he looks to the woman, looking her over and studying her for now as he remains quiet, simply watching them eat.
Cirra Constantine has posed:
Cirra pauses, mid nibble looking sideays at the Detective. Shit, she knew this mini-skirt was too upscale for this place.

"What do you mean?" she glances down the way. "I mean, you're right that I'm not /from/ lowtown, but sometimes it is far better to come here to find things then the markets in uptown, they charge much more up there."
Mercade Alexander has posed:
"I said we don't talk about it, Kaydin." Mercade replies, before devouring the rest of the hotdog.

"Makes enough sense." Mercade replies. "Good to see you're wearing armor, though. It can get rough down here sometimes." Mercade, by the way, is totally unarmored. "So what were you looking for? Maybe I could help point you at who'd be selling it?"
Cirra Constantine has posed:
"Lowtown maybe cheaper, but it's also dangerous." Cirra says to Kaydin as she continues nibbling on her hotdog. She prefers this steady pace instead of Mercade's wolfish dinning meathods.

"Uhm." Damnit, she forgot that when you lie you have to keep lying. "A Rose Corsage." nibble. "It prevents enemies from cuttingoff your spell csating ability."
Mercade Alexander has posed:
"Watson's doing fine." Mercade replies. "He's eating well, and adapting to life with us fine."

"She's right." Mercade nods. "I've been in a lot of places like this." He folds his arms, looking over the area, how people are looking, what they're watching.

His eyes narrow slightly, and he rubs his chin. "A Rose Corsage, huh?" He asks. "I don't remember seeing anyone selling them down here. That could make things complicated. Maybe we can go find someone who does?"
Kaydin has posed:
Kaydin laughs at Mercade. "How is Watson doing?" Kaydin asks as he would look to the woman. "I am curious as to what you do. Most likely reason a person wears armor is to be prepared for fighting with weapons." He says calmly
Cirra Constantine has posed:
Well, the lie works well enough to throw Mercade off any suspicion of Cirra, for now. And she knows they actually won't find one in town, either above or below. But it means she's stuck with him for he foreseable time.

"You don't have to do that, especially not for a stranger."
Kaydin has posed:
"Let me see if I got this right. Your wanting to find something meant to stop people from preventing you to cast spells, in a slum? Even the benign tools used by mages in my home town are expensive and hard to find." Kaydin says as he tilts his head and shrugs. "I am glad to hear Watson is doing good."
Mercade Alexander has posed:
Mercade shrugs. "It's my business to help random strangers find people, places, and things. How long were you planning to spend down here looking for it?" He asks, then looks to Kaydin. "Well, sometimes things show up in the slums you don't expect. I couldn't imagine who'd have one down here though." Not that he's actually been here long enough to know, but he's good at faking things.
Cirra Constantine has posed:
"The vendors down here have 'hunters' searching for things in the desert to sell all the time." Cirra advances to the last third of her hotdog. "An hour or two?" she answers Mercade. "I'm willing to pay for it, I just thought uptown would put a higher premium on it."
Kaydin has posed:
"Very well then." Kaydin says as he would nod. "This town is confusing...my home send dark knights and dragoon to investigate and /hunt/ things for the kingdom..." He says as he would look about. "By the way Mercade, Chocobos can help you get past monsters between towns of various worlds, so Watson can help you get past the beasts that exist. I am not sure about the heartless though."
Mercade Alexander has posed:
And suddenly, Tutorial Kaydin to the rescue! Mercade nods in acknowledgement of the information. "Good tip, Kaydin. Thanks." He wasn't actually planning on specifying that Watson was, in fact, a Chocobo. Guess Dark Knights aren't generally paid to be subtle.

RIGHT?

Mercade nods to Cirra as well. "All right. Well, maybe if I find one, we'll see if I can deliver it to you sometime." He smiles. "By the by...." He flicks a hand, producing a business card and offers it to Cirra. "I'm Mercade Alexander, Detective with the Twilight Detective Agency. Pleased to meet you, miss...?"
Cirra Constantine has posed:
Ah-ha, a chocobo! So this man isn't a complete stranger to these lands...or one of the similar lands that have appeared. These times are strange indeed.

Cirra looks down as the card is suddenly brought out with a *vwip* like some kind of comic book character. She gently takes the card in her gloved hand. "Cirra Constantine. A pleasure, mister Alexander."
Mercade Alexander has posed:
You'd be amazed at how long Mercade practiced that move. "Excellent. I won't keep you any longer then, Miss Constantine. I look forward to our next meeting." Which probably won't be nearly as prosaic. Mercade turns, and gives a farewell gesture, a casual two-finger salure from the brow, before leaving to go get into trouble somewhere. It's inevitable, really.
Cirra Constantine has posed:
Cirra looks at the card again then up as Mercade walks off. She waves one hand to be poliet while hte other tucks the card into her pocket.

The next meeting probably won't be nearly as casual, no.
