Synopsis: There's a whole lot of anxiety in Avira's life...
Cast of Characters: Avira

As was to be expected, Avira was far from alone as she was lead through the cavernous halls of the Seeker palace. In spite of her injuries retained from the losing battle she just fought, she easily kept pace with her escorts. Her hard gaze was trained forward, head lifted high, demonstrating to all onlookers that the Valkyrie leader would take her defeat with grace.

Eventually, she was lead into the throne room itself, easily the largest room of them all. Ominously, a large section of it had been blocked off by a black curtain but such a thing only held Avira's attention for so long. Her gaze was quickly drawn by the smirking, black-haired man reclining in the single throne in the room. As the escort party stopped, and Avira along with them, he stood and began to clap his hands.

"Well done." Ivo Galvan smirked. "You and your lovely Valkyrie put up a fantastic struggle but I'm afraid the Seekers simply have you outnumbered. I commend your reasonable surrender and shall grant you a boon for your wise decision."

Avira narrowed her eyes. "I do not need handouts from the Seekers." She said bitterly.

Ivo sauntered over, waving the escorts aside so he could approach the Valkyrie. "Oh I think you'll be quite interested in this offer." He swept around, placing an arm around Avira's shoulders. The other hand made a gesture and the black curtain was pulled aside. Three figures were revealed, chained by their arms and dangling over an enormous black pit smoking and teeming with darkness. Yellow eyes and tiny claws could be seen reaching from the pit. Heartless. All three dangling men were almost naked, save for a tiny loincloth that barely kept each one decent. Avira's eyes widened in horror and recognition.

Mercade. Angantyr. Skoll.

"A Valkyrie is a chooser of the slain." Ivo said, leaning in to whisper into Avira's ear. "I will spare one of them. So choose. Choose who you will keep and who will be slain." He pulled away to pace in front of her, "And decide quickly now! Because they will be dropped in ten seconds. Ten..."

"What?! No! I.." Avira desperately looked from Skoll...to Angantyr...to Mercade.

"Nine!"

"This isn't fair!"

"Eight!"

"Picking just..."

"Seven!"

"..just one..."

"Six!"

"..it's..."

"Five!"

"It's too..!"

"Four!"

"It's too hard!"

"Three~! Time is running out, Avira!"

"But I CAN'T!!"

"Two!"

"I CAN'T CHOOSE!!"

"One~!"

Avira shoved her escorts aside and ran, reaching for them. "NOOOOO! STOP! I CAN'T CHOOOOSE!!!"

"TIME'S UP!!" Ivo cackled as the chains were released. Avira lept into the air as they began to fall.

"BUT I CAN'T CHOOOOOOOOOOOOOSE!!!!"

THUD.

Avira flailed about in a tangle of blankets and night clothes, face-first on the floor of VALKYRI HQ. "I CAN'T CHOO-!" She stopped suddenly, realizing her surroundings. Slowly, she pulled her knees up to her chin and heaved a sigh of relief.

"That was <GOOSEHONK> up. What the hell is wrong with me."
