Synopsis: Maira returns from Manhattan Restoration to check on Angantyr and tell the story
Cast of Characters: Maira, Angantyr Vespar

Maira has posed:
These past few days have been completely insane. Rampant chaos that blurs the hours and days together into one rushing haze of action.

After so much, Avira was back and Manhattan restored. Avira was now taking a very long nap that had them all rather concerned, but Avira has a hoard of people looking after her--Angantyr didn't. Really, she couldn't trust too many others to keep an eye on him and not decide to stab him in his sleep (or use him as an unconscious weapon...).

Maira comes home to VALKYRI HQ dragging her feet. She thinks maybe Avira has the right idea. Maybe she should try to lay down and go to sleep for a few days too. Angan /should/ be up by now though, and he was going to need to know all that had happened while he was in recovery.

Yawning, Maira reaches up to try to smooth down her hair as she looks around the main area for the familiar form of the dark knight.
Angantyr Vespar has posed:
Angantyr was awake!

He infact was in the kitchen, you can smell cooking food...

A few dirty dishes are on the stove, some cooked steak, what looks like a meledy of vegetables, and a loaf of bread torn in half are still on the table, Angantyr himself is eating famishedly at the table, barely aware of the world around him. How long had he been out? What happened? He was in and out of conciousness, two days ago he was awake enough to yell at someone, but...

He'd lost a lot of blood, even healing spells could only save him, the rest he had to do on his own.

Like right now.

He drinks a large container of water, washing everything down as he...

Snaps aware, his hand already on his mace as he turns his head to the presence...and relaxes as he realizes it was Maira. The mace leaning back against the table again. Angantyr isn't in his armor, just breeches. He reguards her for a moment, "You okay?"
Maira has posed:
Maira doesn't see him in the main room, only to realize she must have walked right past him! Only now is she aware of the smell of food, which makes her stomach growl. She hadn't exactly had any time for a good meal in a while either! Blinking, Maira takes a few steps backward and peers into the kitchen area, a bright smile appearing. "Angantyr! You're up!" she exclaims, turning to enter the kitchen. "I'm just really tired, I'm....f....f....fine," she says, realizing he's sitting there without a shirt on. Maira blinks, then rubs her eyes. Okay, no time to be blinded by glorious muscles. Food!

"Have enough for me...? I can't remember the last time I ate. How do you feel? Besides hungry, which is a very good sign!"
Angantyr Vespar has posed:
"Fine." he says, between bites. Angantyr, master of conversation.

"Yeah, there is. I'm on thirds, so I think I'll be done with this. If not, eh. I can always get more. I'm pretty frugal, so I can afford to splurge once in a while." Angantyr says.

"...So what happened? You haven't been around, neither has Avira, ...or anyone. It was nice to have a little silence, and you're not falling on me in tears, so I assume nothing too terrible." he says, pretty good at reading people. He continues to eat alot...and then.

"There isn't any mention of Avira on the networks. Unless my Ma Belle is being blocked."
Maira has posed:
Maira shovels some food onto a plate for herself and takes a seat at the table then, eating with about as much enthusiasm, no cares given. She's starving.

Chew chew chew. "Yeah...I've barely been back. Everything has been crazy. It's okay though. Let me tell you--" omnomnomnom "--the story."

Swallow.

"Okay so after...um...you fell, Avira was taken through a portal by E-Ember," she begins, tripping a little over that name. Oh boy. Oh boy oh boy. "We had to recover before we went after her, I had some help bringing you back here--oh and Percival and Kamon may have used your unconscious body to bludgeon Evjya. I was understandably very cross with them!-- and I gave you all the healing I could before I had to get to others...then...we found out Avira had been taken to the Underworld. So, we went to go get her, which was..." she takes a deep breath, her eyes glazing as a shiver runs up her spine. "It was expectedly unpleasant."

"We crosses a lot of rivers that did horrible things to us, but we finally made it to Avira. It didn't seem like there was going to be any way out of it for us--really, we thought we were all doomed but we had to try. Turns outs when Avira signed the contract...there was an escape clause..." she says, trailing off to shovel more food into her mouth. She needs a few moments to gather herself for this part. Would Angantyr be pissed? Disappointed? Maira doesn't know what to expect!
Angantyr Vespar has posed:
"...Ha!" Angantyr laughs. "Dumb judge deserves it. Though not with me, I couldn't do anything the last few days." he groans.

"So...THE /UNDERWORLD/?!" He nearly jumps out of his seat. "...<GOOSEHONK>, you actually survived? That's pretty lucky.../don't do that ever again/." Angantyr shakes his head... "And here I thought I was the irresponsible one." he mutters.

"...So Avira got out of the contract? Is she still...you know?"
Maira has posed:
Maira sits up, squaring her shoulders. "H-hey, you can't forbid me from doing things! Especially not things to save my best friend. It had to be done..." she says, frowning gently. Its true, all of them were lucky to have gotten out of there alive. Not exactly whole, as she's sure she'd never stop remembering that place, but alive.

Maira shakes her head then. "She was still a mutate then...but that was part of the escape clause. See...um...Hades only owned her in that form. To get out of that form she needed um....true love's kiss," she says, very pointedly staring down at her plate. Mmmm steak...

Maira clears her throat. "Mercade kissed her, and she turned human again. Hades was really, /really/ angry, but Isaac had given us these charms that opened up an emergency exit for us...so we got out of there."
Angantyr Vespar has posed:
The fork drops from Angantyr's hand when Maira gets to the escape clause.

His face goes dark for a moment...kindof a shitty way to find out, but..

He picks the fork back up, and shovels more steak into his mouth. So that is how it was...how it had to be.

He doesn't say anything else, waiting for Maira to continue.
Maira has posed:
Maira winces, biting her lip. Maybe it was better to finish the story for now.

"So...then it was time to restore Manhattan. The place was a graveyard of a city, really haunting...we had to make it to the world's heart while protecting Avira and Sora from the Heartless and this giant robotic crocodile thing...It was really difficult. Lot of running, which I'm terrible at...Percival kept getting me out of trouble--and actually, Evja too. They both saved me," she admits, embarrassed. Not her proudest moment. She'd felt extremely useless.

"Anyway...its done. Avira and Sora did it. They restored Manhattan. Now....now Avira is sleeping. I guess she must just be /really/ tired. But its back. Manhattan is back."

Maira pauses then to take a few more bites of food and take a couple of deep breaths before she looks up. "I'm sorry Angantyr. I know how you feel about Avira...I'm sorry."
Angantyr Vespar has posed:
Angantyr is silent for a long time. Continuing to eat, finally, he puts the last of the steak into his mouth, drinking water to wash it down, and then he leans back.

"The <GOOSEHONK>? She nearly gets us all killed, and Avira enslaved to a Shadow Lord, and you let her come? What's next, Ember came to help too? Hey, why not invite /all/ of the shadow lords, I am sure they want to help restore Manhattan." Angantyr spits out annoyed.

"No. It's fine. It's...fine." he says, in a tone that says it's not fine at all. "Manhattan is back, right? Everyone is happy...Avira is asleep, or whatever. Go get Mercade to <GOOSEHONK>ing kiss her to wake her up, make it all storybookish." he says, and stands up, grabbing the mace.

He starts walking back to the cot he was given.
Maira has posed:
Maira sighs heavily. Oh no oh no. She still has to tell him what /else/ happened! This is basically the worst thing.

Maira watches him stand and head over toward his cot, not sure if she should follow. For now, she does. "I'm sure she's just really tired...I mean you slept for days..." Right. First things first.

"Um, Angan? I know you probably want to be left alone right now, but I wanted to say thank you for what you did for me....you were crazy to do it, but...thank you all the same," she says, standing a few feet away.

Not everyone is happy, which should be fairly clear. Of course Maira is relieved Manhattan is back and is glad for everyone, but is she happy, really? No. There's a shadow in her eyes.

"There's something else I need to tell you....but I need you to make me a promise first."
Angantyr Vespar has posed:
Angantyr grabs his shirt, and starts slipping it on.

However, Maira follows...and starts talking at him. He takes a sharp breath, and looks at her.

"Alright, I promise." he says, Maira's not the problem, he's trying to be nice, TRYING to be nice.

"And...okay, it's fine. You're not why I am...nevermind." he says, just shutting up, "What do you need to tell me?"
Maira has posed:
"Oh, I know. You...well I expected you'd be upset. That makes sense. I would be upset too. I am--" by holy, shut UP Maira.

Maira takes a deep breath and prepares herself from an explosion.

"Ember was there....she was there because....because Ember is /Katyna/."
Angantyr Vespar has posed:
Twitch.

TWITCH.

"Oh my god, seriously!?" Angantyr has just about had enough of this bullshit, "She kidnapped Avira, and you let her come?!" Angantyr is just...god this is so stupid. Like really really stupid.

"Whatever, She managed to fail at being a shadowlord and we have Manhattan back. Great. Anyway, I'm going to go hunt her down now."
Maira has posed:
"Hey, she kidnapped me too!" she reminds him, since he has obviously forgotten! Then she points at him, anger rising. "You promised!"

"She's trying to redeem herself. She faced down Hades to help us get Avira back--I'm not saying you have to forgive her but you promised! She should be able to try to do better!"
Angantyr Vespar has posed:
"Yes, I remember. THIS IS WHY I AM ANGRY." Angantyr says, "She TRIED TO KILL YOU, and then she TRIED to corrupt someone with darkness. She says she SERVED the heartless. Not even the Shadowlords DO that." he says...and then...

"...YOu realize you never actually made me promise to anything, you just sort of told me...what I was promising to do or not to do." Angantyr pauses, his anger momentarily abaited because Maira is a derp.
Maira has posed:
Maira opens her mouth to protest, but nothing comes out! She closes it again, her face turning a deep crimson. "....You said you promised! I thought you meant you would agree to whatever I asked and I ask you don't kill Katyna! Yes she did those things but she's changed and wants to change more and--" Maira sighs heavily and just deflates, her shoulders drooping. She just suddenly sits on the floor, looking defeated. "I'm so STUPID," she exhales.
Angantyr Vespar has posed:
"...No you're trusting." Angantyr says, "And people will take advantage of that trust, because you're nice." he continues, "I don't care what she says, she's not thinking about your best intrests, only hers. I Have no idea what her game is, screwing up another Shadow Lord, but I think her plan failed, and now she wants a way out."
Maira has posed:
Maira hangs her head. Do you think she feels good about this? She was lied to by two of her closest friends. Sure, she absolutely forgave Avira and would likely forgive Katyna too...because she's stupid. Because she's trusting.

"Yeah....they will...apparently they already have. But I--I don't know," she sighs.

"I just want to go away for a while. I feel like....I don't know. I need to...travel or something. Its so stupid, but I feel like I'm suffocating."

Maira shakes her head then, totally not wiping tears from her eyes, nope. "Sorry, you don't need to deal with this. You have enough."
Angantyr Vespar has posed:
"Then why the hell are you staying here?" Angantyr says, starting to put the armor on. "I'm leaving once I get my stuff together, I'm pretty sure my place isn't here. This whole line of <GOOSEHONK> has made that clear. Nothing is keeping you here. You can go anywhere you want, with whoever you want, ain't nobody going to tell you differently."
Maira has posed:
Maira blinks, looking up at him. "Because this is my home...it is the only one I have left. I have friends here. You do, too," she reminds him, even if he doesn't want to hear it right now.

Still, she gets to her feet. "But....I do need to go. I just...." she looks around, takes a deep breath, and lets it out slow. She's been through a lot lately. "Yeah, I have to go."

Maira looks toward Angantyr, pursing her lips, wanting to ask if she could come with him, but she isn't sure... "Where do you plan to go....?" she asks instead.
Angantyr Vespar has posed:
"Flourgis, check for any good marks. Then I'll probably travel from there. Might hit a caravan, see if they need any extra muscle and take it to wherever it goes." he shrugs.

"This isn't my home, Maira. I don't have one. I sit in one place for a while, then I move on. I don't think such a place can exist for me, just places of increasing or decreasing comfortableness."
Maira has posed:
Maira nods, though she looks rather sad for him. "I hope you do find a home again Angantyr," she says quietly.

"I like Flourgis..." she continues, then groans at herself. She turns and moves toward her corner where all her things are kept, starting to pack a bag. "I'm not running away," she tells herself. She's not. This is different. She needs space. She needs....something.

"Can I come with you? At least for now?" she finally asks, turning toward him as she heaves a bag up on her shoulder.
Angantyr Vespar has posed:
Angantyr nods, "Sure. Someone needs to look cute and get into trouble." Angantyr kids, "And I ain't bubbly enough for that." The dark knight finally gets the armor on, packing some more things into a pack, before hefting the mace onto his back, and locking it into place.

"You sure you don't want to rest first?"
Maira has posed:
Maira smiles and blushes lightly. Oh there is just no way he doesn't know how she feels. No way.

"I seem to be pretty darn good at getting into trouble, that is for sure," she admits with a small sigh.

"Not if it means you'll leave without me. I feel a lot better after eating something, honest," she says, straightening to try to look stronger and more energetic. Sure she can't hide the dark circles beneath her eyes, but she'd sleep sometime!

Then something occurs to her. "You know....its going to look like we are running away together," she says flatly.
Angantyr Vespar has posed:
"Look at all the <GOOSEHONK>s I give what other people thing, Maira." Angantyr says, "I mean, seriously."

"Anyway, if you need to rest, and want to come with, that's fine. I can stand to spend one more night here, but we leave first thing in the morning. Or else we're traveling into Daybreak."
Maira has posed:
Maira looks takeaback. Really, no one swears as much as Angantyr does, and he's swearing even more than usual! He's right though. What should she care? No one would /really/ think that anyway.

"No, no, I'm good. I'll leave a note...then lets go."
Angantyr Vespar has posed:
"Alright." Angantyr say, and walks towards the door.

"Ladies first." and then he closes the door behind him once she's through.
