Now, Here In Manhattan
Date of Scene: 20 September 2012
Location: Manhattan
Synopsis: Exploring a park at night!
Cast of Characters: Reize Seatlan, Deidra, Riku, Mercade Alexander, Tifa Lockhart, Shiki Misaki

Reize Seatlan has posed:
Ahh... Manhatten.
It's quite a place that is overall pretty busy. The path leads the group, through the portal, to what is Central Park of Manhatten. It is a lush land of greenery, vegetation everywhere with pruned trees, and populated by people exercising.
Cyclists are riding along the bike way, leaving the others to enjoy the sights.
Shiki is likely observing the park in its entirety beside the group, or off checking out the local Americans and their fashion.
Reize, however...
"Hrm... okay. Midgar should be here."
Peering at the map intentively, Reize mumbles while the map is held upside down. "Yeah, this should be Midgar!"
The boy brightens, his ahoge flipping up. "Tifa! We finally made it!" The boy looks around the park, watching the people pass by. Some of them eye the boy strangely, but otherwise...
"I knew we'd make it! o/`"
Shiki Misaki has posed:
Shiki is also here!

Shiki's taking pictures with her cellphone camera. That better have a lot of storage space on there.

"I wouldn't know!" she says. "What is this place called?"
Tifa Lockhart has posed:
Tifa Lockhart followed Reize all the way from Traverse Town. The boy had offered up his help to find the way back to Midgar, after she had acquired her supplies. She carries a box with her, filled with various goods for her bar, many bottles of alcohol, but also other necessities likes glasses, ustensils, plates...

Well that'd be nice and all if they were actually back in Midgar, but right now... not the case. The barmaid takes a long look around... and then sighs deeply. The boy said he had a map, this should have been a quick trip, but beside the fact they got lost a few times just trying to get here, and that here is not the right place, she is a bit disenchanted.

"This isn't Midgar." She says simply. She's been here once, she knows. The streets, the lights, the people, they all are 'somewhat' like Midgar, but its still not the same, she knows better.
Riku has posed:
Riku sits at the base of a tree, sketching in a leather bound book. He watches a cyclist go by, the glance putting him into sight line with Reize.

He raises an eyebrow, but doesn't seem to really notice him. He looks down at what he was doing, scratching a few more careful lines into the off-white paper. When Reize becomes so exuberantly cheerful, his head snaps up from the book, staring straight at Reize whom he recognizes as the source.

A flash of disappointment comes and goes on his face. Riku blinks, recognizing briefly the warrior who appeared with some of the others in Central Park a few nights ago.

"Are you looking for something? " he notes from where he is sitting, pulling one leg up as he leans up against the tree.
Shiki Misaki has posed:
Shiki is also here!

Shiki's taking pictures with her cellphone camera. That better have a lot of storage space on there.

"I wouldn't know!" she says. "What is this place called?"
Reize Seatlan has posed:
That is when Reize turns to face Tifa with a frown, "It's not?" She seems to know he location, but, Reize can't believe it! "But this map points to this spot and..." As soon as the shows Tifa the map that he has, he points right at the dot.
... Wait. A dot?
Soon, the dot twitches, revealing to be a beetle.
Wings flutter.
And the bettle flies off of the map, past the boy's head, and far away along the park. In in the meanwhile, Reize's gaze follows its movement, watching it go with awe.
"... Errr..."
Sweatdrop.
When he faces Tifa, he has a hand resting over the back of his head with a sheepish look. However, a voice addresses them and Reize turns his head to look over to the person calling them. He is a kid, albeit older than him.
"Ooooiiiii!" Brightened to a smile, Reize says, "Yeah! We're looking for a place called Midgar. I figured this was it, but..." His antenna hair flops as he looks downcast, "Guess not." A sigh exhales, then he looks back at Riku with curiosity, "...Where are we at?"
Riku has posed:
@emit Riku answers. "Manhattan." in a flat but not unfriendly voice. He frowns slightly at Reize, although there seems to be no obvious reason why. His glance flicks down to the book, where he turns several pages and writes something into the journal before he closes the book.

He carefully puts it away, shoving things into his pockets until his hands are free. He steadies himself carefully as he gets up from his sitting position, shaking pins and needles out of his legs. "It's one of a bunch of very large cities. This Midgar you are looking for, is that another world, like-- Traverse City?"
Tifa Lockhart has posed:
Tifa Lockhart sighs and shakes her head at Reize. Well he has good intentions at least "I didn't get to learn of the name of this place. Its somewhat similar, but its not Midgar." I guess all modern cities will look alike though.

She turns her head when she sees Riku approaching. She knows that one. He fell from the sky, or from a tree (she's not entirely sure) next to the two princesses when she arrived.

There was that singing swordman, the billionaire playboy, and a gargoyle too, and uhm....

Anyhow, she nods to Riku as a greeting "Oh, hi, I've seen you before... uhm, Man-Hat-Tan?" she tilts her head "Is that a place where men come to get some sun?" She knows that city names can be odd sometimes. Talk about 'Rocket Town' or 'Gongaga'. But hey, never know.

"I'm not sure, I took a portal to reach Traverse Town, but apparently we took the wrong one to get here. Still not used to these new worlds." She pats Reize on the head with her free hand. She's not angry at him, she probably wouldn't have done any better at this point.
Shiki Misaki has posed:
"I dunno," Shiki says, "This place looks pretty different to Shibuya. And Traverse. It's kinda dark and stuff, you know?"

She holds up a 'Visitor's guide' pamphlet. Resourceful girl. "Let's look through this?!"
Reize Seatlan has posed:
When Tifa confirms that they are not in Midgar, the antenna hair flops with a *wiiiirrromp*.
"Sorry..."
The boy then looks back at Riku as he mentions about Manhatten. "Man. Hat. Ten." The boy gives a thoughtful look about their surrounding area. He looks back towards Tifa, the antenna hair flipping back up as he forms a determined look.
"We'll find Midgar! Don't worry!" He looks back at Riku, "Well, we were at Traverse Town! She was lost and I figured I could help her!" He muses, "I am generally good with figuring out spots. ...Kind of. Sort of."
The boy sidles over towards Shiki to look over her shoulder towards the pamplet, "Oooh! That may help us out!"
Riku has posed:
"Possibly. Although with all these tall buildings, I think it's somewhat of the reverse." Riku perks up at the mention of a name, possibly another city name, that he hasn't heard of, looking at Shiki with interest.

"I'm familiar with a few of the portals that go back and forth here." he glances briefly at Reize, then back to Tifa. "You probably got turned around." he has a faintly exasperated look on his face as he watches Reize out of the corner of his vision. "I could help you search, if I can. I'm looking for my friends, and--"

he makes a frustrated gesture at the city surroundings. "The more places I look, the more places it seems there are to see."
Tifa Lockhart has posed:
The barmaid smiles kindly "Well I got to Midgar once, but using an airship from here, so its a bit of a ways there I think." Makes you wonder how long they have been wandering exactly. "It would be nice to be pointed in the right direction. I believe someone said it was called the World of Ruin now." she scratches her cheek a bit "This is rather confusing."

She offers a kind smile to Reize, nodding to him. His quest won't be over until they reach Midgar obviously... no matter how long that might take at this rate.
Reize Seatlan has posed:
While he looks at Shiki's shoulder towars the pamplet, he pulls back with a frown as she seems to be in the same situation as Riku. The boy turns to face the older teenager. Although the teenager is exasperated by the boy, the energy still bleeds out from him as he beams. "Well then We can also help you find your friends!" The boy brightens, then he notes.
The young adventurer looks at Riku, grinning, "That is the talking of an adventurer! There are many places that are worth traveling to!" His smile widens, "That's why I plan to see all of the places there are here...." His expression becomes determined, "And with my friends, the Shard Seekers will find the shards of missing worlds!"
He looks at Tifa, "...World of Ruin..?" The antenna hair flops at the mention of the name.
Shiki Misaki has posed:
Shiki holds the brochure open for Reize to look at, but when he mentions 'Shard Seekers'... she slooowly looks over at him rather than it. "You never told me about that," she says, quite obviously giving him her /full/ attention.
Riku has posed:
"Wait. Hold on a second and back up." Riku raises a hand to Reize, making a 'cease and desist' motion as the exasperation turns to genuine puzzlement. "What do you mean, shards of missing worlds?" He runs a hand through his hair, touching a leather cord mostly hidden underneath his shirt briefly before continuing. "No. Really. Back up and explain this to me. Do.. does something survive of worlds that are lost?"
Tifa Lockhart has posed:
Tifa Lockhart tilts her head a bit as well, looking over to Reize "What's a Shard Seeker?" she wonders, almost echoing Riku there. She looks over to the silver haired boy "Missing worlds? That might explain lots of things right here." Well, that's if it is what she thinks it is. Let's go into the more vague!
Reize Seatlan has posed:
Falling silent briefly, Reize only gives Riku a heartfelt, sadden smile. "..It is possible." His eyes turn serious, "I believe it is." And in that moment, his pendant flickers with a low light.
For a moment, Reize turns to face Shiki and Tifa, offering her a bit of a faint smile. "Sorry. While two were out in town for a bit, there were a couple of people that I was with over the night. I wanted to check up on one of them because she was someone who I found lost and alone. We all decided that we would form a group to find the missing shards..." He rubs the back of his head, "...I suppose I never did mention how I got here either."
He furrows his eyebrows, "It seems that many of us lost our worlds, but..." He lifts his head up, "...I don't remember anything about it. When I fell into a waterfall, I ended up at a strange place. It as a place filled with darkness. However, a voice told me to follow it." While explaining, he pulls out a deck of cars.
"...I found myself at a floor. It had paintings of various places." Then, Reize pulls out a deck of tarots. "...These are paintings from long ago before I was born... they were my mother's paintings." As the boy presents the tarots out, they appear to be shard fragments of several worlds. Of the cards, Shiki would be able to make out Shibuya as one of them. The overall design of the city.
Deidra has posed:
Deidra had returned home to check on the agency also to look for someone but with no luck there? She'd gone to flying about the city looking for strange things. Tonight it's not heartless but a very strange group of people in the park. One of which she knows, she's landed some way away from them and made it through teh tree to them. She wraps her wings about herself like a cloak and starts to move closer to observe but she very may well be spotted by a PC grade spot check.
Shiki Misaki has posed:
Well now you've /got Shiki's attention/. Very strongly.

Her throat's suddenly turned dry, because she recognises what is pretty much unquestionably Scramble Crossing on one of those pictures. She gulps.

"That... is my world. Reize why do you have a card with my world on it. Wait, why did- a /painting/ with my world on it?"

She's just GOGGLING at this, hugging Mr. Mew and crumpling the pamphlet a bit.
Riku has posed:
Riku's expression shuts down. He sticks his hands in his pockets, shoulders hunching slightly as he listens to what Reize is saying. He looks at the cards, raising an eyebrow slightly while keeping that perfectly neutral expression.

There is a feeling around him of intensity and concentration. Someone holding so still because the only other option was to go a million places at the same time, which visually would come off to be somewhat messy in execution. Riku starts to glower, as if the cards were a snake that was riling itself up to bite.

He leans back slightly, moving a foot an inch backwards before stopping the retreat. " So.. what happens when you find these.. lost shards of yours." It appears that someone has wound himself a little too tightly, because as Deidra approaches from behind, Riku goes off like a cannon. He pivots on a heel-- and there is suddenly a sword in his hand, an ebon stretch of blade ribbed with red flashing up into ready position with an expression on his face that is just about as scary as the sword for being empty of expression. "Who's there" he commands in a deadly monotone.
Tifa Lockhart has posed:
Tifa Lockhart wonders what is getting people all so tensed up suddenly. She didn't see a picture of Midgar, nor anything she knows about at least, so its hard for her to understand what's going on exactly. She listens to Reize's explanations though. She tilts her head, looking at the one Shiki is pointing at "That sorta looks like this town, doesn't it?" She hmms thoguhtfully.
Reize Seatlan has posed:
"I don't know," Reize addresses Shiki as a matter of factly. His expression is casted with a frown, "...My friend mentioned the same thing. He apparently saw his world." He holds onto the tarots briefly, "They were from my mother, who I never met..." He runs his hand along the back of his neck, "...I don't know what this all means. Ivo, however, told me that many of the worlds had either fused or disappeared in entirely."
His head lifts up, his expression now becoming serious, "That's why my friends and I had formed the Shard Seekers." With determination, his eyes shift towards Riku with that serious look, regardless of his tense expression. "We plan to find the shards of the world and restore them."
But, when Riku forms a black blade, the eyes widen and he springs back away from the other teenager, "Wh--what?!" His hands remain to his side, not withdrawing his weapons yet. However, the boy tenses with bewilderment.
Deidra has posed:
Deidra contiunes to watch for the moment and she's listening untill Riku calls she comes out of the shadows one might see the face of her while close to human it isn't. Riku would know this Gargyole and prehaps Tifa but the otehrs would not. "Err I was just out and about and was a little bit curious about what was going on. I didn't want to startle anyone..."
Shiki Misaki has posed:
Shiki Misaki isn't quite sure what to make of this new appearence, and she's not too proud to semi-hide behind Reize when she appears; not because she's scared!

"We're just... stood around, talking..." she says carefully, not really sure what to make of this person. She hasn't seen anything like her before aside from Ovis Cantus... what could this person be?

"I mean. Like. We're talking about stuff like..."

She spins Reize around by his shoulders. "I don't know how you've got a picture of Shibiuya, but I've got a good feeling about it. If you're trying to find other worlds and you have that, I have a feeling this is important. I want to come with you, Reize."

"I want to be a shard seeker, too."
Tifa Lockhart has posed:
Tifa Lockhart turns over to Deidra as she appears, and waves to her. She doesn't seem alarmed at all by the appearance, she met her already, in this place in fact. "Hi." she offers up simply. She doesn't know if Shiki is being angry at the picture or at the gargoyle though, so she can't really help out in this situation. "Well I'll be sticking around until we find Midgar again. Unless this young man knows the way there." she blinks a bit at everyone pulling their weapons out "Calm down, she's no danger." she shakes her head.
Riku has posed:
Riku furrows his brow at Deidra, less intimidating now that there is an expression on his face of almost comic bemusement. He recalls a failed mugging a day or so ago as he wandered Manhattan, and decides the gargoyle is about as easy to startle as anybody else he's meet.

Which is to say, not very much. The blade evaporates, gone between one eyeblink and the next. Riku growls out a sigh. "It's okay, Deidra. This place.. makes me slightly edgy. Especially at night. " he shakes his head. "Enough of this. I've stalled long enough." he looks to the others, then at Reize. "I'm sure you'll get to Midgar. Eventually
Deidra has posed:
Deidra slinks back at Shiki's reaction a little bit, She tries to make her profile nower to Shikia nd she looks at her for a moment "I mean you no harm." She looks almost sad but it seems expected. At least Shiki didn't run away screaming and she dares not flex her wins out of cloak mode at this point. "I understand this city has changed as of late and Midgar that's an old alternate name for this world back one culture's myths. It's odd I run into a being named after a god king from another set of myths..."
Reize Seatlan has posed:
Truth be told, Reize had been forced to be put on guard thanks to Riku's actions. It's not that Riku isn't trusted, but the actions are very worrying. When he does look along the shadows, he can see that it is a gargoyle. When Shiki semi-hides behind him, there is that heroic, brotherly nature that stands guard to protect her.
Blink
Blink.
"Wow, first, a talking ro--err.. nezumi, then a talking lion, and now... uhhh..."
"Uh..."
The boy takes a moment to scratch his head, his antenna hair mimicing Reize's finger. "What are you?" Not that he wants to seem rude, but..
He is quickly spun around by Shiki, "Gah!" His eyes widen and he faces her. "...Alright. Welcome to the Shard Seekers. Lily and Ivo will be glad to have you around." As Riku retracts his blade and begin to leave, Reize sighs a bit, then he looks at the departing outh. "Thanks! We will find it!" He looks towards the gargoyle for a moment, "...Uhh..."
Question marks now hang over the boy's head, looking at Tifa expectantly.
Shiki Misaki has posed:
Shiki Misaki rubs the bottom of her mouth with one hand, putting the other one behind her. She's sort of hiding the big ol' smile.

"Thank you, Reize. I won't let you down."

Expand your horizons as far as they will go...
And maybe you'll find the others, right?
Tifa Lockhart has posed:
Tifa Lockhart lifts an eyebrow at Reize "... Midgar?" she offers, not sure what else he wanted to say. But if that's what he was looking to say, after Riku said it not even a second before leaving... This does not bode well for the barmaid. Let's hope they get back home before those bottles of wine are considered as vintage.
Deidra has posed:
Deidra adds helpfully "Gargyole, belive it or not I'm a local here. If there's anything you three need I might be able to help just don't ask me to go somewhere public. You can guess how that /goes/ for me." She hangs her head a bit. Ya humans seeing something like this it might not end well. She seems to know this, and well seems still a bit nervous like something else might go wrong for her. "You can call me Deidra for what it's worth." She'd offer a hand to shake but she figures that would go poorly right now.
Mercade Alexander has posed:
And... footsteps!

"Back here already? Well, I suppose this is one of the nicest places in Manhatten if your tastes run that way." There's a chuckle, and a man in a leather overcoat is seen approaching from the side, a fedora on his head. He tips it in greeting. "Deidra. Miss Lockhart. New arrivals." He grins. "Welcome to Manhattan. Or welcome back, for some of you. Name's Mercade Alexander, Detective with the Twilight Detective Agency. Don't be afraid of Deidra, she's here to help too."
Reize Seatlan has posed:
The cheerful smile is given towards Shiki. Reize has a brighten smile her way, "Don't worry, more friends is always great to have." Lifting a finger into the air, he chimes, "Knight's Vow #2: Let's work together for a peaceful world!"
Then, his attention is given towards Tifa, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly. "We'll make it back! Don't worry!" Unfortunately for Tifa, knowing the luck, expect some ridiculous boss fight against some Heartless before making it back to Midgar.
At least Tifa will be able to say that her trip back to Midgar was an adventure!
Nevertheless, when Deidra explains about herself, the boy brightens forth and he extends HIS hand her way, "Reize Seatlan! Pleased to meet you---.." That is when another person arrives. He looks over towards the man with a fedora.
"Hi! Reize Seatlan! Pleased to meet you!" While the hand is extended out Deidra, his other hand crosses over to offer a handshake to Mercade. His ahoge lifts up, the beaming smile remains.
Shiki Misaki has posed:
"I think you already told me that one!" Shiki says, proving that if nothing else, she is observant. It's important to remember these things! A reaper might know and give you a pop quiz on it, later.

"Gargoyles, huh... I guess there are lots of different people in different worlds. Like, I was sure I saw a kid walking around with a duck and a really tall dog earlier."

"Hey!" Shiki says, patting her hand into her other hand. "If you know this place, could you show us around? I'd love to see the night life!"
Tifa Lockhart has posed:
Tifa Lockhart turns over to Mercade. She does remember meeting him a few days ago in this town, after all. Same with Deidra. What's why she doesn't seem overly alarmed either. "I got lost trying to get home, Reize here offered to help me get back home, but..." she scratches her cheek with her gloved finger "We got even more lost, somehow." Despite him having a map. Yeah, might take a while.

She nods to Reize "Thanks for your concern." She looks over to Shiki "I wouldn't mind taking a look around, but this box is getting tonna get too heavy if I keep buying more. Unless you have an idea for me to carry stuff around more easily." Maybe like something on wheels, or turning Reize into a pack mule.
Deidra has posed:
Deidra looks over her shoulder as the boss(tm) arrives. "Oh Mercade hey your back in town too." She smiles a little at shiki for a moment "Yes, it's all right I admit I do really look the creature of the night, don't I." She's taken it well enough and she grins "No other city's got a nightlife like this town to be sure. "Goo to meet you Reize. So might I ask what worlds you three hail from I must admit I'm curious"
Mercade Alexander has posed:
"Checking back in before going back out. There's a lot to see out there. Don't worry about it, Deidra, just... be careful all right? The people here are on edge enough as it is with the Heartless running around, we don't want them mistaking you for one."

He nods to Tifa. "It can't be easy with this kind of situation. Here, let me sketch something for you..." He pulls out a notepad and begins making some makrs on the paper, writing out some directions for the areas that he's explored so far. More or less consisting of Traverse Town and the area around Balamb. He tears it off and hands it over to Tifa. "Here's what I've found so far. If I find 'Midgar' for you, I'll let you know and maybe go see if I can have a drink with Thor." He grins and winks at that, chuckling.

Reize gets a handshake. "You're a lively one, I see. What world are you from, Reize? And how did you get here?"

Shiki gets another grin from Mercade. "There's nothing like the nighlife in Manhattan. Clubs, restaurants, stores... New York is the city that never sleeps, and it it shows. There's always something to do or buy here... But it's gotten dangerous, recently, with those Heartless things showing up." He pauses. "We've also kind of somehow lost the rest of our world, That's kind of a thing. That's happened."
Reize Seatlan has posed:
Grinning towards Tifa, Reize furrows his eyebrows and he consider her words, "I can help carry them, you know." He runs a hand to the back of his head, "After all, I didn't think it'd take us too long to get to Midgar." However, his gaze locks onto Deidra and Mercade when both question him about his world.
"...I don't know, really." The boy runs a hand over the back of his head. "Honestly, I lived in a small village surrounded by a forest most of my life. It's all I seen most of my life. One moment, I fell down through a waterfall from falling asleep on my raft, the next moment, I found myself in some strange place of darkness, following some voice." He furrows his eyebrows. Realizing that his tarots were still in his hand, he pockets them. He shakes his head, "... I still don't know what to make of it. It felt like a dream."
"...Even stranger when I felt the wishes of people."
Tifa Lockhart has posed:
Tifa Lockhart hmms as she looks at Mercade's drawing. She thinks "... Balamb sounds familar... I think I've seen a sign for it when I was getting to Traverse Town." She draws a line from Traverse to Balamb "There's a portal that links the two right? That's the one I followed. So that's probably the portal we should have used, instead we followed Reize's map here." She draws the line from Traverse to Manhattan... sure enough, its about 120 degrees away from the other portal.

"Well that'd explain it. I think we can get back to Traverse easily enough at least, unless there's a shorter way from here." she smiles. well its looking up a bit more at least. She might be able to stock on more things if Reize is helping. And maybe Shiki can go shopping with her too, while in town.
Shiki Misaki has posed:
"Good to meetcha," Shiki says to Mercade, giving him a thumbs up. "And you two know one another already?"

"Heh, I didn't mean it like that," Shiki says to Deidra, a little embarrased. "I just don't get to go out on the town all that much at night, so in a new place, it helps to know someone who's already pretty familiar, right?"

She spends some time listening to Reize, leaning against the nearby tree as she does so. "It's all so weird," she says. "It's like some fantasy hero's story in a cartoon, or something. At least getting around here will be easier..."
Deidra has posed:
Deidra says "I will it was Riku who spotted me, I'm not even sure how he did that. He's really good at paying attention to his surroundings I guess." The comment about thor gets a laugh out of the gargyole. "If you do save some meed for me would you?" She looks back to Reize for a moment nodding "Sounds kinda story book at least from how we live here, Reize. When shiki redponds she nods a little bit. "I know, as I said I look the part of the monster don't I? Just what's on the outside is not what you get on the inside I guess. It's a good idea if Mercade is offerin it be worth accepting. I have found a good number of fantasy things are real. I met an animated skeleton who has more life to him than some living people..."
Mercade Alexander has posed:
"I know better than to just dismiss these things out of hand by now. Over the last few days, I've seen all kinds of things I might have said were impossible."

Mercade sighs. "I guess it's time to just throw that word out the window." He grins to Deidra at her request. "Will do."

Mercade flicks a hand, and produces several cards. On them is emblazoned the following:

TWILIGHT DETECTIVE AGENCY
PEOPLE FOUND, MYSTERIES SOLVED, TROUBLES RESOLVED
MANHATTAN, NEW YORK CITY

On it is also Mercade's cellphone number. Some of those present (Probably Reize, he looks like a 'no telephones' kind of guy) might not know what they are! He's run into this a few times already.

"Anyway, Manhattan should be relatively safe as far as these things go. I'm told your stuff changes when you move from world to world. If you guys get in a pinch, let us at the TDA know and we'll give you a hand." He grins to Tifa. "I'd offer to help you back to Midgar personally, but it looks like you already have plenty. Good to see people working together in times like this." He nods to her. "You pretty much have it spot on. I've been doing a lot of exploring, trying to map the places out and see what we're in for. Find out more about these Heartless, and any other legends or information that might help us find a way to stop them."
Reize Seatlan has posed:
It is a strange fate. Even if his own world was restored, he wouldn't know it. It is a scary thought. However, that is probably that it is best that he does it. He doesn't have to worry about his own, but help others with theirs.
But when Tifa mentions about his map, the boy frowns and procures the map, "But the map is generally goo---...." And as he turns over, his map is somehow shredded into pieces. A frown forms before he exhales an exasperted sigh. Oh well.
"Heh.. a story book," Reize mentions to both Shiki and Deidra. "...At home, I grew up listening to my father's stories of his adventures. I had been hoping to have one of my own." He muses, "...I wandered out one day and almost got eaten by a large bear. Dad saved me in time." He muses, "...But, this is the furthest that I've been!"
As cards are presented out, Reize takes one of them and he reads it. Oh wow, detectives. The boy has vaguely haerd of them. However, the stream of numbers seem rather confusing to the boy. When he looks at the man, then he gives the older detective a firm nod. "Got it!" He is not sure how he'll get a hold of the TDA, but, it is good to have that resource. Maybe Ivo has that ability!
He gives a bemused look, "...I am also keeping track of the monsters and Heartless that I come across!" He pulls out a book, revealing a face of a creature on it.
Tifa Lockhart has posed:
Tifa Lockhart leans over to Reize, patting his head again "Don't worry, if you want my opinion, I think your map wasn't working well. It couldn't be a map of this new world if noone knows about it, right?" She tries to be sympathetic "Once we get to Midgar I'll give you this one, so you can explose and draw the rest of it. How's that sound?" Quest number 2 : Get 100% completion of all world maps.
Shiki Misaki has posed:
T"Changes, huh? Like how?" Shiki asks Mercade, although she gratefully takes the card. She can put it straight into her contacts!
Mercade Alexander has posed:
That's already on Mercade's quest log. XANATOS INTERRUPT.

"In most worlds, it seems like your money changes to match the local currency, or in some cases, I'm told that your clothing might change to fit in better. I haven't experienced this one yet though personally." Just wait until he gets to the Pridelands...

Reize gets a chuckle from Mercade. "Keep going, kid. I like your style." He looks at the book, and nods. "That could be really useful information. I should do that too, maybe we can swap information sometime." Of course, he hasn't really run into much yet, so...
Reize Seatlan has posed:
His antenna hair flops.
Though, when Tifa offers her comforting words, the boy winces. "I suppose not. Though, I could had sworn it was a good map!" When she promises to give him the current one, the boy brightens and he nods, "Yeah! That sounds great!"

Accepted [Side Quest #2: 100% Completion of All World Maps]
When Mercade mentions about exchanging information, Reize nods, "Sure! Knight's Vow #26: Knowledge not shared is knowledge lost. Father said that it's important to share the knowledge so others are more aware."
Then, he brightens "Nevertheless, let's check out the rest of this town! We'll be able to continue our travels during the day!"
Tifa Lockhart has posed:
Tifa Lockhart hmms "Well, guess we got time to look aroud town then, and get more supplies for my place." she moves over to follow Shiki around. From the looks of things, shopping time awaits~
Deidra has posed:
Deidra says "An intereting vow Reize. Knights tend to just be people who have done nations who still have figure head monarcies great service. It's been a long time since they actually were front line combatants." She's going to follow but from the air where she's less likelyt o be seen.
Deidra has posed:
Deidra says, "Where the last incarnation of the Doctor is a woman. She and the master go screw this fighting thing and walk off on a date""
Mercade Alexander has posed:
Mercade, on the other hand, likes to take the scenic route. There's no reason not to for him, and many reasons to do so. He needs to get this stuff mapped, dammit. He strolls along, watching the scenery intently and thinking as he goes. He takes many notes as he goes. The sudden appearance of so many people catches his attention, however, and he quickly moves up to join the gathering. "Hello there." He looks to Gil and then Faris. "So, what's going on with this? Anyone care to explain?"
Mercade Alexander has posed:
Mercade laughs. "Grumpy. That's a good one." Mercade looks at the arrival of the swordmaster and the winged woman. He looks up, frowning for a moment. "Huh. It's getting busy. Or is it always like this? I don't know, I haven't done this a lot." He looks kind of lost for a moment, so he focuses on the pirate. "Sup Faris. I'm Mercade Alexander. Detective with the Twilight Detective Agency." He tips his hat in greeting. "So, what's your story? How did you end up with Gilgamesh here?"
Mercade Alexander has posed:
"I'm not a thief. Usually." Mercade smirks at that, and looks over the arrivals. "Doing great, myself. Just doing some travelling between exciting vistas, meeting interesting people, doing neat things."

Mercade looks over at the samurai and blinks. "Are you looking for people too?"
Mercade Alexander has posed:
"Me? I'm just exploring. If you can give me an idea of where you CAN go from here, that would be great." Mercade replies. "I'm trying to map out these roads, trying to find out what goes where. And find out if anyone knows anything about these 'Heartless' that've been ravaging the worlds. More accurately, what they are and how to stop them." Mercade is scribbling ina notepad as he speaks.
Mercade Alexander has posed:
"The Heartless have apparently been invading a lot of worlds." Mercade replies. "By all accounts, every one I've been to so far. Except maybve Balamb, no one there I talked to would confirm or deny it." Mercade shakes his head. He glances over to Meri. "Have you had much luck finding people? What have you seen while you've been out there?"
Mercade Alexander has posed:
"That's great!" Mercade says. He flicks a hand and produces a business card, offering it to Merilan. "If you need any help with that, please, give us a call.

(The contents of the card are as bboard post 9/2)

"So where can you get copies of this periodical?"
Mercade Alexander has posed:
"We're people who are hired to find people or take care of problems that the police can't or won't." Mercade replies. He takes the written pages and whistles. "You put a lot of work into this! But... Isn't this kind of inefficient for mass publication? Have you tried talking to a newspaper or magazine publisher?"
Mercade Alexander has posed:
"Well, it kind of goes like this. You write your story and sell it to a publisher. They then use machines to make a ton of copies of your story and put it in a newspaper that goes to a lot of people." Mercade replies. "This is great, but if you're doing it to get the word out, look for the best way to do it! If you need to find some, let me know and I can help you find some in Manhattan."
