Cast of Characters: | Angantyr Vespar |
Angantyr laid on the god awful place wherever Garland had deposited him. He wasn’t sure if it was Mirage tower, Hollow Bastion, or wherever. It hurt to move, it hurt to think. Consciousness came and went, and he was hurt beyond all reasoning. He didn’t even try to open his eyes, he just laid as consciousness came to him briefly.
He’d done it...he’d finally shattered the last bit of ties he had to actual people. People he loved, and cared for...they hated and despised him. Those who already hated him had more of a reason to stick a blade in him...he’d even had to suffer moralizing of the twice traitor. It hurt to think about that, but she finally manage to get it...she refused to die a monster, and maybe...just maybe, that was enough.
Maybe. She still had a long way to go, regardless.
There was Maira...he still didn’t know what he felt. Affection? Love? Something, it wasn’t just friendship, but he never had time to see where it lead...he didn’t feel comfortable with Maira after Avira...both because it’d look like he was taking second best, and he knew it wasn’t like that, and because it might tear two friends apart. It was, however, the most painful thing he had to do, to stand and fight, with his own will against her....against both of them.
Steel himself, she had told him. Sarafina was right, she had gotten it without having to directly tell her. She knew that it wasn’t just to hurt them, but to protect them...because he cared. Had he not did this himself, Garland could have sent someone worse...someone uncontrollable, someone who would not stop. Hundreds would be dead, and they’d blame themselves.
He had to do this, for their own good.
That was the mantra he’d kept repeating. It didn’t matter anyway, he’d belong to this side of things. The darkness was what he was born into, and what he’d die in. He couldn’t even sigh right now...he just let out a breath.
And he falls back into darkness, blackness taking him until he was healed enough to actually form coherent thoughts.
