Profile

Daughter of the chief of the Al Bhed, Rikku is the latest guardian to the summoner Yuna. While she would like nothing more than for Yuna to quit her pilgrimage altogether, ultimately Rikku's goal is to keep Yuna safe on her pilgrimage and, if possible, try to find some way to stop Sin for good - and free Spira from the cycle of Sin that it's been locked in for the last 1,000 years.

Abilities

• Mechanic: Having grown up Al Bhed, in a society that is basically composed entirely of mechanics, Rikku has a fantastic understanding of the inner workings of machina. Aside from really advanced machina - like airships - there are few machines that she wouldn't be able to repair on her own. Sure, sometimes it's a little slow going, and everyone has a few setbacks when they're working without a manual, but in the long run the girl knows what she's doing with machines. Similar to this is the fact that she can also easily break machina - or, more to the point, dangerous machina. Intentionally. Really.

• Good Driver: Expanding from this is the fact that Rikku is a pretty decent pilot of smaller machina - things like submersible transports, sandbikes and the like that would see frequent use by Al Bhed are just as competently piloted by Rikku herself. Again, it's something she was raised doing, and something an Al Bhed her age would be expected to be competent at.

• Chemist: Rikku also has a certain aptitude for the mixing of various chemicals to produce reactions, be they harmful or helpful. In combat, this generally amounts to her mixing items in order to produce a BIG FLASHBANG EXPLOSION in order to damage or confuse the enemy, or occasionally, as a last resort, mixing a super potent potion for a party member who's in real trouble. And she's never without a few Al Bhed Flashbombs at her disposal.

• Al Bhed Power: Where she does stand out from many other Al Bhed is in the fact that Rikku is in fact bilingual - in addition to speaking the language of the Al Bhed, she is also able to speak Common, a skill that many Al Bhed don't bother picking up. Obviously, this is a huge help when it comes to dealing with outsiders, as if she can keep her eyes out of view, she can pass for a regular Spiran with no trouble.
