VALKYRI stands for Very Adventurous Ladies Keeping everybodY Really Interconnected. They are a fellowship of warriors, mercenaries, and general ass-kickers united in the pursuit of quests, marks, and ruined Shadow Lord schemes. Though not specifically aimed at restoring worlds, VALKYRI often butts heads with the Shard Seekers.

Members are expected to follow three important guidelines:

1. Be good to each other. Friendship is magic. We are all friends here and all work to help each other grow more awesome.
2. Be willing to travel. Our adventures take us all throughout the world so being excessively tied to one place won't work.
3. Be capable of defending yourself! At least one magic or weapon proficiency is required.

History

Sure, the group's start wasn't terribly magical. Avira simply took notice of how often she seemed to cross paths with certain other wanderers of the shattered worlds, and started to reach out with the intention of working together and having others to rely on. Maira and Vespa, along with Avira, formed the initial team. Following a mission involving investigating rumors of a snow demon, the displaced monk Minerva, the aforementioned "snow demon," joined up.

Avira met Lenna Tycoon on a chance visit to Manhattan and thanks to previously dispersed flyers, the Princess of Tycoon elected to participate in VALKYRI. Though at the same time Avira had agreed to support Lenna's ambitious goal of driving the darkness back completely.

It was perhaps another stroke of fate that, while trying to claim a building in Traverse Town as a base that VALKYRI came across the recently displaced Valencia and the secret Shadow Lord Katyna. Valencia was also seeking a place of her own to serve as a laboratory and sought the same abandoned building. With a bit of negotiation, they reached the agreement to share the space, though they had to evict the Heartless infestation first.

At the behest of Avira, VALKYRI had a hand in defending the city of Manhattan when it was targeted by a Shadow Lord campaign to destroy it. Ultimately, the overall effort was unsuccessful and the world fell to the darkness. As it turned out that it was really Avira's world that had fallen, she declared a new prime directive for the group: wherever they go, they would oppose the schemes of the Shadow Lords.

Mimir

VALKYRI possess a strange little artifact by the name of Mimir. He is a dynamic data archive from a long-lost ancient civilization that runs with an artificial intelligence. Mimir is a plot device used to map and find things/ADVENTURE!

Misc

In spite of the name, the group is not strictly women only, even though people in Traverse Town tends to refer to VALKYRI as "that group with all the scary warrior women." (Or even "that group full of women that are all secretly French maids", no thanks to Ivo.) For joining, get in touch with Avira. It is preferred for interested members to RP their way in versus apping into the group.

The radio frequency for VALKYRI is 7668. ICly it is maintained by Linkpearls but it can also be accessed with a Ma Belle. Members are usually given a tuned Linkpearl to serve as an emergency backup in case of stolen/missing phone.
