History

The only known history of William (meaning history that you are going to get without extensive searching and resources/influence in Manhattan) is that he was seemingly been around the city for years. He's been known somewhat of a underground hero, someone who comes around just when he is needed, and only stays until he's not anymore. Typically a sign of good luck for the downtrodden, his presence tends to bring great luck for whatever hobo's he attaches himself too, and they tend to...stop being hobos after their time with him.

However, besides this, he has been an affiliated part of the Twilight Detective Agency as a detective for some time. He was a contact and friend of the previous boss, and of course one of the current boss. Will and Mercade tends to get along, but have been known to openly argue with each other over anything from minor to important things, but even then never abandons the older detective. Strings of strange events follow the Hobo Lad, all of them typically good things.

Of course, bad things have been known to happen to those who...have ticked him off. However, they tend to learn very important lessons afterwards.

Recently, with the loss of Manhattan, Will has grown from being passive to being more active. He has taken, into his hands, a weapon for the first time in his life, and used it on someone. Something that Will has never done in his entire span of life. During the battle for the heart of the world, Riku under the possession of another entity awoke the heart of something inside Will. The man, known only as Loki to those he spoke to unleashed untold evil on the defenders and attackers alike during the battle.

It was only a combination of the remaining defenders and attackers that drove Loki back, being thrown into the keyhole with Riku, before the world heart went dark. Both lost to the void...

However Will awoke in what was the ruins of Manhattan.

Personality

William is a very 'go with the wind' kind of person. He doesn't stay around in one place too long (Manhattan is a large place, fyi) with the exception of the TDA. While he's willing to help people out, he never lets himself be boggled down by responsibility, unless he wishes to be, and does not let other people force responsibility on him.

Will tends to say what is on his mind, almost at all times, and has little restraint. He's honest, and tends to avoid lying, but has been known to withhold information when not asked. Beyond that, Will has a unique perception on life, and the world. Beyond this, Will tends to show a great deal of concern for his fellow man, willing to throw himself into trouble to help someone, and will fight bitterly to save people.

He also has some sort of weird...connection and hatred for the Heartless.

More recently, The Hobo has picked a weapon up, and now uses it as part of his combat. Something he has never done before, due to his dislike of weapons. However, despite the hatred he felt for Riku when they met again, he did not turn the weapon on him in a moment of weakness.

Abilities

Fate Sight: Sometimes called the Mystic eyes of fate perception, Will can see the lines of fate and connections between people. Those with important fates are particularly strong on this, and it tends to reveal important things about a person through abstract representation superimposed on Will's sight. Those with strong connections to magic might have glosomer strings, those with heavy ties to the darkness might have strands of darkness spun through their pattern, and those heavily invested in light might be very bright to Will's eyes. Also, they tends to show important connections to things, thick strands showing strong connections, weaker strands showing less connected things. Flaying lines tend to show degrading relationships, and darkening strings tend to reveal hatreds. Ultimately, what Will see's is up to the other player...he can see as much or as little as you want. It's a exposition tool, and nothing more!

Luck Control: William is in tune with the rise and flows of lady luck. He can win any game of chance the participates in with little effort, and anything with a luck component tends to always favor Will. Will can also, with some effort turn the tides of fortune up or down for others, but the effects are typically short lasting.

Unaging: Will does not age.

Parkour: William is very in touch with Urban areas, tending to be able to easily know where to go, where to find things, and run extremely fast through areas where typically it is very hard to get anywhere. Fighting William in a city is an extremely bad idea, and tracking him in his home turf is near impossible.

Hand to Hand Combat: William's skill with hand to hand combat is a combination of self teaching, and various boxing and martial arts techniques he has learned over time. He has, also, learned to combine this with his manipulation over luck. Those that he strikes tend to find themselves hindered by random events...shots go wild, falling items get in the way, they trip over their suddenly untied shoes...

Streetwise: William is very knowledgeable with getting information, or finding things on the street. He knows where to go, who and how to talk to, and how to hinder others.

Detective: He's not as good as one as Mercade, but has learned tricks from the man and the last boss of the TDA.

Fate Sight

One of Will Sherman's unique abilities, relating to the power over luck and fate that he seems to have, allows him to see the strings of fate. This is a strange power that overlays his normal eyesight. As people have wanted an extended look at this power, and what it can and can not do and what strings look like...here we go.

Fate Sight works like his normal sight, except that strings cover people in a variety of ways. The strings can tell much about a person, but sometimes strings can look like other strings, and the strings themselves are abstract representations of what is there. Also, if you obscure things...it can obscure it from his sight. If Will is in a room of pitch darkness, he can't see you, nor your strings. If you're behind a wall, it's impossible for him to see (unless your connected to him in some way, then he can follow the string from himself to you...or attempt to.) Simply put, if you don't want me to see something, then I can nod my head, and say you are obscuring it actively. Or that I can't make the connection.

However, what it can see: Unique abilities or fated destinies. Important things about people can be seen, again with your OOC consent, but are also abstract. Princesses of Light, for example, are brilliant strings of light, so bright that Will has to ware sunglasses in their presence or look away from them until his eyes can adjust. Unlimited are similar in this regard. Those with sufficient darkness, like Garland or Ansem, the reverse is true, looking at them hurts him in a different way. And yes, certain extremes can actually physically hurt or blind Will.

The strings can also reveal relationships between people. Different relationships depends on what is going on. Black threads are usually negative relationships, white strings are positive ones, and red strings indicate something more between people. Strings can be various shades of colors, and can even be different colors at different ends of the string.

Examples of Strings:

Red: Love, affection, deep caring. The hue of the color changes depending on how red it is. True love is always bright red, while love between family members is a lighter shade. Affections are lighter reds, as well as puppy love.

White: Friendships, positive bonds between people. Bright white threads are friendships... usually long lasting and deep running ones. Darker ones indicate positive rivalry, or the start of friendships. The stringer and thicker the thread, the stronger and more stable it is.

Black: Enemies, negative bonds. People with these bonds between them typically are hateful of each other. The darker or thicker the strand indicates the more powerful or deeper the hatred runs. Lighter shades of black indicate negative rivalries.

Green: Jealousy, envy, greed. People with these shades are either themselves envious or greedy, or in a relationship with someone who is jealous or greedy of what the other person has. Typically a supplemental color, rather than a pure color on it's own.

Brilliant White: Powerful connection to the light. Paladins and priests of holy gods MIGHT have these...those with connections to World hearts will be slightly brighter, and Unlimited are almost blinding, and Princesses of Heart are so radiant that being near them is blinding without time to adjust.

Wispy Dark: Connections to darkness or a user of darkness. The wisps seem to grab and wrap around strings. The darkness corrupts all that it touches, and can poison relationships over time. Those heavily steeped in darkness are nothing but wispy strands with some minor strands to the few connections that might have left. Those steeped enough in darkness are simply voids of darkness...darkness so deep that nothing escapes.

Binary strands: Strands of binary code in one's strings indicate being a program.

Static Strands vs String like strands: Strings usually are like strings, they stretch and pull, can flay and twist depending on circumstances. Those with more twisty turns indicate a more chaotic nature. Those with static strands indicate more stable nature. Artificial life, always has very...static strands. Strands that seem placed, rather than naturally forming.

Gossamer Strands: Indicates magic, rather affected by magic, can use magic...it's hard to tell, often, due to magic's nature. Those with these strands tend to have magic deeply into their being. Or just have very powerful enchantments on them, or items.

Heartless: Heartless still have fate, but inverted, cut off from the world around them, and twisted on themselves. They are like static, horrible and terrible to look at. Noise fall in other this category.
